HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY!

HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY!

Well, Punxsutawney Phil DID NOT see his shadow at 7:28am this morning. It was 26 degrees with overcast skies with light snow and mist under a Full Moon. Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania was settled in 1723 by the Delaware Indians as a campsite halfway between the Allegheny and the Susquehanna Rivers. This town is 90 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. Groundhog Day is believe to have started February 2nd 1841. Punxsutawney is the Indian word for “town of the sandflies”.
