Let's NOT FORGET our 9/11 of Pearl Harbor - December 7th - those of us older ALL were taught of it - WE REMEMBER! I'm using this post as mine; as I respect these folks for their notably correct facts...and don't have time to write so much here these days...I will get back to it after the new year at some point - I miss it.

Let's remember our GREAT STATE of Hawaii on this day!

Pearl Harbor was originally a shallow embankment called Wai Momi
(Pearl Water) or Pu'rloa (long Hill). It was considered the home of
the shark goddess, Ka'ahupahua, and her brother, Kahiuka. Tradition
says that Keaunui, the legendary chief of the Ewa chiefs is the one w
ho created a navigable channel near the present day Pu'uloa saltworks.
The estuary known as "Pearl River" was then accessible to shipping.
It was never used for large shipping because of the shallow entrance.
As whaling and trading began to use the islands as a half-way point in
the Pacific, by 1820 the US was looking for a major harbor. It was
not until the turn of the century that Pearl Harbor began to be
refitted for larger naval vessels. The naval base we know today was formally opened
when the dry dock was open to flooding on August 21, 1919.

As early as February 1, 1933, the Navy staged a mock attack on Pearl
Harbor by the Japanese. The exercise was a disaster. Even in 1933 it
was known that Pearl Harbor's defenses were considered, after the mock
attack by Japan, a failure. It makes the events of December 7, 1941
even more heart-wrenching. The War Department knew the attack was
coming. They did not know when. They did not realize that Pearl
Harbor, which was basically a sitting duck, was to be the location of
the attack. It was assumed the attack would come in the Philippines.

"...Under the command of Admiral Chuichi Nagumo, the
attack was devastating in loss of life and damage to the U.S. fleet.
At 06:05 on December 7, the six Japanese carriers launched a first
wave of 183 aircraft composed mainly of dive bombers, horizontal
bombers and fighters. The Japanese hit American ships and military
installations at 07:51. The first wave attacked military airfields of
Ford Island. At 08:30, a second wave of 170 Japanese aircraft, mostly
torpedo bombers, attacked the fleet anchored in Pearl Harbor. The
battleship Arizona was hit with an armor-piercing bomb which
penetrated the forward ammunition compartment, blowing the ship apart
and sinking it within seconds. Overall, nine ships of the U.S. fleet
were sunk and 21 ships were severely damaged. Three of the 21 would be
irreparable. The overall death toll reached 2,403, including 68
civilians, and 1,178 injured. Of the military personnel lost at Pearl
Harbor, 1,177 were from the Arizona. The first shots fired were from
the destroyer Ward on a midget submarine that surfaced outside of
Pearl Harbor; Ward sank the midget sub at approximately 06:55, about
an hour before the attack on Pearl Harbor. Japan would lose 29 out of
the 350 aircraft they attacked with...."

The attack on Pearl Harbor, called Hawaii Operation or Operation Al by
the Japanese Imperial General Headquarters was designed to prevent the
US Pacific Fleet from interfering with their military actions in
Southeast Asia, against overseas territories of the United Kingdom,
Netherlands, and the US. The Japanese attack was so thorough that
only 29 aircraft and five midget submarines were lost. The US death
toll was 2,403. Only 65 Japanese servicemen were killed or wounded.
One Japanese sailor was captured.

Love Conquers All In The End

This story is for anyone that's ever been in love - out of love - and anywhere in between. This story is especially for young people that are just beginning that process... HOW BEAUTIFUL it ends up...

I'm an old lady now at the young age of 48...have great friends that are as young as 20 and as old as 70. All women experience love; and OH BOY - love for a woman encompasses many facets of life. Your first love, your first boyfriend, husband, your second, and all in between...

I envy the people I can count on one hand that met theirs and never looked back - that's rare. I think we all intended for it to be that way...just didn't happen for me :)

In my life though - and lately especially - I've know people that experienced love in earlier years and have reunited... I don't have anyone I want to connect back to - lost what I lost back in the day - and I'm now OK with it all... BUT lately I know about 3 people going through this...

I'm PROUD and happy for those that went back and found those they loved from the beginning. And on that note - those of us that have had amazing people come into our lives later = LOVE.

Life is a trip - worth taking - if you're missing something - look back and find it - or look at what you have at present and appreciate it, or maybe it's your future. Be HAPPY for people in your past that found it - encourage your friends that they can find it - and if you're IN IT - LOVE what you have.

KNOW Love conquers ALL :) I'm old and have been through a lot in my life - Maybe I'm not what my husband thought I would be - and maybe he's not what I had in my young teen mind - but we're happy. He puts up with me and I put up with him - we LOVE each other. You have to get older to figure that out :)

I'm happy for us, and I'm SO HAPPY for those unhappy lately that were old and found love from the past. Life is too short - BE HAPPY - and find love where you can and hold onto it when you get it...

LOVE CONQUERS ALL...no matter how long it takes :)

I endorse Mark Amodei for my first vote next Saturday.

I may be only 4-5 years into politics...but I'M SICK AND TIRED OF THE SAME OLD SICK AND TIRED...

That being said...I've learned a lot in my involvement into politics. I'm pretty RIGHT WING when it comes to some things (not so much in others) - but when we live in a state that's hugely outnumbered by liberals - in power - we do have to get along to get along in some small areas in order to get anything done. (NEVADA IS ALSO #1 IN UNEMPLOYMENT & FORECLOSURES)...???

DUH?? NEVADA OWNS HARRY REID...HELLO???

I've studied all three major candidates for this spot - I believe Mark Amodei is the best mix to as best he can cover all major issues and somewhat meet in the middle (while he's STILL so Conservative)...

I DO NOT - and WOULD NOT support big LIB views or bills. However, until the Revolution actually comes - it's a fine line and a ledge to sit upon to choose leaders these days. I hate RINOS - I hate power mongers - and I hate opportunists that think just because they CAN win makes them the best candidate. The OTHER thing I HATE is career politicians AND people that support said politicians because "they" think it will move them somehow higher up the "political" food chain". Mark is NOT that guy...I don't think.

I'm SICK & TIRED of hearing the same old talking points! YES - "WE" all KNOW - "less government - less taxes - grow jobs" - WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT???

Everybody with a vote has their own special interests - I have mine too. Well - I DO have a vote next Saturday. My interests lie in Northern Nevada. I'm not stupid.

I realize full well that the POPULATION of Nevada resides in Clark County. I realize full well that with redistricting coming after census will create a new district including more of Vegas. I've also lived in NV in the North (Vegas being the South for those not from here reading this) since 1989.

I also know that with your more than 1 MILLION in Vegas in population - Las Vegas / Clark County has TWO (2) of the (3) THREE congressional districts in Nevada. While the population lives down South - the LAND MASS - the WHOLE REST OF THE STATE (HUGE) is Congressional district #2.

I've got to go back to the way I was raised. I've got to go home to Texas where I'm from - the rurals... Country values - Common sense even when it comes to Carson City, NV and a dude accustomed to all that comes with that. I come from a town of about 5000 - know full well the Dallas / Ft. Worth TX metropolis houses about 4 MILLION - I get it... (WHY do you think with a vote I DON'T REALIZE what BIG means and big values are IMPORTANT - but Country values are also)...

Mark Amodei can mix the rural with the city and get along. He can mix the needs of the City in Vegas as our GOP chairman - and still look after country folk. I was in gaming for 20 years - I get the glitz and glitter...but I get common sense too. He is and looks normal in our Northern mix. The "Southern" dudes try to buy boots, put on some jeans, and pretend they have the land mass at best interest. NOT!

Not to mention that over the last 20 years - CALIFORNIA has moved into Vegas in mass. The Conservative and common sense people there in "power" or offices - have turned into more "left" of center as Republicans.

Mark Amodei comes from HERE in the North. While I don't agree with him 100% on all he's done - he is the best I've seen. People here do not understand that the population DOES NOT outweigh the land mass in the important issues of Nevada. I'm privy to some information once in a while - but don't believe all I hear.

The "North" has long been considered the red-headed step-child of the "South"...SORRY - not so. Country will ALWAYS outweigh city in my book. Just my humble opinion from a country gal...

BUDGET Argument - Al Sharpton - Chicken & Pig

My liberal friend tried to see it another way...

I saw the video in another manner - I AM the pig's leg...PAYING for all the

entitlements...Liberals see themselves as the chicken laying the egg.

BUT in a bi-partisan manner - I have to laugh tonight - because my LIBERAL friend called me and asked me if I saw Al Sharpton on TV today???

NO I DIDN'T - but when I watched it - I saw what she saw...

As a liberal - she agreed with him - BUT HELL NO!

I saw it differently...Liberals are laying free eggs - and WE THE PAYERS
- and PRODUCERS are giving a leg. Entitlement folks feel
like THEY are

Sharron Angle For NV Congress #2

Recently, I spoke to Sharron Angle personally. I LIKE HER - I really do; she's a phenomenal woman. Nevada, nor America YET is ready to take that step to Revolution. Although I'd like to see it happen...

There are ALSO some other GOOD/GREAT politicians ready to run for Dean Heller's Congressional seat when he WINS the next seat to take OUT John Ensign in the Senate USA.

Rumors have it that Brian Krolicki and/or Mark Amodei will run for that seat. I kindly held Sharron Angle's hand - and basically told her - while I like her personally - she has NO CHANCE in hell to win against either one of them. It's true.

I just HATE to see a really nice woman put herself through that AGAIN - she's LOST a few elections already - HOW MANY times does she need to be told the citizens of Nevada will NOT elect her. The media (as it is) is already slamming her SO HARSHLY - and in my opinion UNFAIRLY! BUT - still remains - why spend ALL that money and go through that again.

I have a little mindset of my own like Sharron Angle - have even contemplated running for a small office of my own from time to time. I don't agree with her some of the time BIG TIME on some issues - but a lot of the time - I say HECK YEAH! I think a LOT of good people DON'T run for office for the same reasons.

I just say - Sharron - pick your battles - fight hard where and when you can - I support you as a fellow Republican Woman - but this one you cannot win. Choose another battle...

Not sure I wanted this to be my first post back on the blog trail - but business is business.

I live in Reno, NV. A GREAT PLACE to live. Unfortunately, our state "boasts" #1 in unemployment, #1 on foreclosures, & #1 in several other areas.

However, the GOOD side of those facts means that if you live here - you can buy a house for cheap - get a GREAT JOB - and your kid can excel in school like no other.

I've been trying desperately for some time to HIRE TWO Journeyman Diesel Pickup Mechanics for some time. Where are they all??? One would think in the very state that "boasts" #1 in unemployment, folks would be lining up on the street for a job.

After the "dot.com" boom and bust - no young people have experience in the "trades" anymore. Nobody wants to get dirty - or work in mechanic jobs, electrician jobs, plumber jobs, etc. The money is GOOD! A guy with any experience under his belt doesn't make less than $20 per hour in my shops. Basic beginners even make $17+ per hour.

I NEED MECHANICS! I have a great busy shop and am so busy I need to hire TWO.

Obama on Letterman Show

President Obama went on TV yet again tonight on the David Letterman show. He's been on TV more times than he's had days in office! Anybody besides me question this strategy? GET OFF MY TV ALREADY!

RACE - YES - the race card was pulled again!

Letterman asked Obama how long he's been a black man - his response? "So the American people, I think, gave me this extraordinary honor. That tells you a lot, I think, a lot about where the country is at." Obama joked that he was actually black before the election - he wasn't :)

Obama's CORRECT response to how long he's been a black man should be NEVER!!! The race card is wrinkled, smelly, incorrect, and Obama IS NOT a black man :) Obama has a white mother, a black father, he's neither - he's just as much white as he is black - but yet America still praises the first black president. NOBODY GIVES A SHIT about the color of his skin, his DNA, his genetic code, or his hair, nose, eyes, etc.

WE THE PEOPLE ONLY CARE ABOUT HIS POLICY - IF HE WERE TRULY 100% A TRUE BLACK MAN - AND HE DID A GOOD JOB - NOBODY WOULD CARE!!!! Jimmy Carter (truly the WORST president of all time - was as WHITE as an Easter Lily) was the worst president EVER in the USA. Obama is running a final second - and may take the lead if he's not careful.

If the race card is SO IMPORTANT to those KEEPING it in the media - WOULD YOU - YOU THE RACE CARD FOLKS - PLEASE ASK THE RIGHT BLACK MAN TO STAND UP AND BE COUNTED? I'd LOVE to have a black president - I wouldn't even mind a purple, green, or blue president! JUST GIVE ME A PRESIDENT THAT READS THE BILLS - READS THE CONSTITUTION - AND GIVES A DAMN ABOUT WE THE PEOPLE! This man does NOT have your backs folks - cradle to grave is NOT something your government is supposed to provide.

He's GREAT for the entitlement crowd - which is HUGE! You've been indoctrinated to think the world owes you something for free - Obama's all about that - at the price of YOUR own tax dollars even though YOU think he's PROTECTING you from all that. Vote and weep my friends. The devil IS in the details - when it all comes down - YOU WILL LOSE MORE than you think you already don't have.

I'm so happy for Obama that he was impressed about a heart shaped potato that some lady gave him. Obama called that remarkable. YES we all like humor and home spun gratitude - but when your POLICY outweighs your humor - suddenly - it seems menial! A heart shaped potato with a GOOD president would be funny - and we'd all embrace that man's sense of humor. Obama is so far down the ladder right now - NOTHING funny he says makes WE THE PEOPLE laugh anymore, because I CRY when I see, study, and know what he's (the whole government) is doing to YOU - the ones that love him so much.

9.7% Unemployment? Who's doing the "averaging"? Where I live, it's 12.4% - where my in-laws live, it's up toward 15%...9.7 is but a drop in the bucket to most of us. GUESS WHAT? THERE ARE STILL JOBS TO BE HAD here in 12.4% ville... The MAJORITY of jobless - are the minimum wage jobs...BUSINESSES NEED SKILLED LABOR! Trade skills, mechanical skills, tech skills, management skills, even in "small-ville"...skilled customer reps, skilled folks with good work ethic and morals - ARE IN DEMAND!

Another "guess what" to those that just blindly BELIEVE statistics that are produced by the media? The "unemployment rates" are generated by statistics generated by those ACTUALLY receiving unemployment benefits! HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of Americans still "have" a job - but they've been cut back to 3-4 days a week, benefits cut, and salaries dropped! THEY are basically unemployed - but their numbers DON'T show...

Obama & administration have INCREASED unemployment benefits for 20 weeks now twice that I know of...there's only 52 weeks in a year - seems like bail outs never end. I can't tell you how disappointed I am when I hear folks I know personally tell me that "hey - they extended it - there's no real jobs out there anyway - I'm gonna keep drawing unemployment...I deserve some time off - I paid into it - gonna get what's mine!"

GUESS WHAT DUMMIES!? YOU don't pay into unemployment! Your EMPLOYER does! AND, if you run a good company, and don't have to fire too many, not too many quit - after 3 years or so YOUR UNEMPLOYMENT PAYMENTS go DOWN. In this economy, in this unemployment explosion - there won't be a break for years! TOO many people are on it - and STAY on it because the government keeps you entitled TO IT! GEEZEES! NOW the government says "part time" employees can get unemployment for the days they DON'T get! WTF? There's NO incentive for folks to go and DO! Productivity is a choice - too many choose NOT to.

By the way - NOBODY on this planet would, could, or SHOULD fault those that are truly disabled, crippled, or distraught in a way that makes them unable to fend for themselves. This nation IS ONE of compassion, love, and charity. THOSE that truly CANNOT will ALWAYS be taken care of :)

For those that never realized that minimum wage jobs are for the ones in high school or college, the ones that keep tips on top of income, or the retired that want extra income but not too much to thwart social security payments, or the ones that like working in an easy position and have a spouse or other income? Guess What? You reap what you sow!

As to the war - Obama's OWN CHOSEN leader / general is begging for more troops in Afghanastan! Obama had that report over a month ago! Obama doesn't want to engage! He said...

"Obama said he won't make a decision on sending in more troops, though, until he completes a comprehensive review of the war effort and settles on his next strategy.

"I'm going to be asking some very hard questions," Obama said."

GREAT! Another "comprehensive review" - just what we need from the government when your OWN chosen general is THERE and TELLING you what's needed! How many soldiers will DIE while Obama needs to have yet another "comprehensive review"?

He's gonna ask HARD questions? How about the HARD QUESTION the sitting general Obama chose ASKED HIS Commander in Chief? GIVE ME TROOPS OR GIVE ME DEATH - that's the bottom line... Folks like to think (government at least) the TOP line wins... NO - NOPE - NOT EVER - it's the BOTTOM line that matters - the war is on the bottom line - and it's bad.

FUND THE TROOPS - BLOW THE BASTARDS OFF THE MAP - WIN THE WAR LIKE USA CAN WIN A WAR - OR COME HOME???

If our government isn't willing to WIN at all costs - THEN STOP SPENDING MONEY WE DON'T HAVE - LEAVE THE PLACES YOU WEREN'T WILLING TO REALLY FIGHT FOR - BLOW THEM OFF THE MAP - OR COME HOME!!!

If ya don't want to be the big dog - then get off the porch! It's all really simple America. We can FIGHT and WIN - or we can come home. There is NO MIDDLE in war! Eight years into a war that could have been won in a few months is even tiring to me the right winger :) Bush had balls, but with a Lib majority - couldn't kick ass and take names like he wanted. Main stream America is indoctrinated into Kum-Bah-Ya - so make a decision people - kick or curl - just make the move!

Obama needs to settle on his next strategy - what Obama is doing is SETTLING on OUR FUTURES!...BS

AND on Obama's media blitz this Sunday / Weekend - yep - you guessed it - was on every station imaginable to mankind in the USA - but refused to show up at FOX...

Perhaps WE need to remember that he "didn't know well" the folks he "did know well"...

And - while most of you are swallowing that warm sweet oatmeal and cookies fed to you by your current government and your main stream media???... beware of the habanero and jalapeno peppers diced in the middle of your brainwashed pudding :)

Helzberg Diamonds Reno ROCKS

My son is getting married :) My son bought his woman's ring at Helzberg Diamonds here in Reno in the Meadowood Mall :)

I was there - we shared his story with the women behind the counters at Helzberg :) My son met his special girl while playing softball over three years ago. He played short stop - she played second base ;)

We went to pick out "that special ring" that only Erica can wear :) My son wanted to take her out to that ball field, and propose to her on second base - he did - she said YES - and a new family is born :)

Time passes - WE HAVEN'T GOTTEN A BILL YET - down payment done - forms complete - remainder of what's owed - no bill yet ?

Olga, from Helzberg gave me a phone call. She asked if Clayton did actually propose to his bride to be. I announced happily that yes he did. OLGA REMEMBERED! Olga asked if he did it at second base - I happily announced that YES he did :)

Olga asked again - did she say yes? WELL I again happily announced - YES she did say YES! (OMG - she's marrying my eldest son - how could she NOT say yes LOL) - BUT what makes Helzberg Diamonds ROCK - is that Olga the salesperson that sold my son the diamond ring for the woman he's chosen for a lifetime - cared to ASK!

Olga called - more than once until she reached us. She WANTED to know that all went well. We mentioned that we hadn't received a bill yet - she said - we haven't sent one yet! We wanted to make sure you were happy, and that he proposed, and that she said yes ;)

WHEN DOES THAT HAPPEN ANY MORE IN TODAY'S SOCIETY!!! They wanted to make sure all was good and happy, and they even mentioned that sometimes things go bad, and ladies don't always say yes - and maybe the young man needed to return the ring ;)

Many people read this blog - some from far places. THIS post is for my NEVADA readers :)

I feel like I NEED to write this. I only got involved in politics since the caucus in 2008. I got fired up, and I haven't stopped being fired up since :) I just returned from a special event tonight, and thinking along the lines of what I need to say? WHO better to say it to than your dogs on your own back porch :) It's OK to sit in a nice dress in a lounge chair on your own back porch and talk to the dogs about politics :)

BUT - love my pictures - and I must have video of every politician from city council, to mayor, to congressman, to governor. I go to a lot of events, and I think (due to the "stink eye" I get from some)...I've become to be known in the upper circles of Washoe County GOP as "the bitch with the camera" HAHAHA...

Well - this is how it is - and this is my reason. I'm disappointed that in a county of over 500,000 that I take MY time to learn. I take my time to see. AND, a lot of times - there are not that many of us at any given function. BUT - THOSE OF US that ARE there hear all that is spoken when someone gives a speech. Bloggers abound - Newspapers abound - Television stations abound - just WE abound. WE - THOSE OF US that ARE there and HEAR what's spoken can sit amongst ourselves and talk about it all day long. We chicks, or the gentlemen that attend - we can ALL talk about what was said or done. WHY is speaking or telling different than pictures?

WHEN I AM BEHIND MY CAMERA??? I truly HAVE NO OPINION!!! As a woman, as a business owner, as a citizen, mother, voter - SURE - I have opinions...but BEHIND my camera - there IS NO OPINION! I just wish to bring to the citizens of Nevada the things they need to hear. From EVERY candidate - from EVERY person I film - I feel like it's my duty to bring to them what THEY aren't willing to come out and find out for themselves.

I ALWAYS ask permission to publish. I sit on my videos and study them myself to form my own opinions. I rarely have the time to publish the ones I have, and I have HOURS OF THEM!

By the time I find the time to edit and publish - it's usually old news anyway. SO - to those giving me stink eye - and to those that embrace my little videos? I do it for YOU. I do it for WE. WE THE PEOPLE - remember us? THANK YOU all that give me permission to film you - even though you rarely make it out of my camera or my computer :)

Obama Addresses AFL-CIO on "Health Care"

I just sadly witnessed the most Socialist speech I've ever seen or heard an American President make in my lifetime. My heart ached as the words fell from his tongue.

He actually, openly used very disturbing language in my opinion. Words like redistribute. Of course, he phrased it as the redistribution of success. "The success of us all depends on the success of each of us."

It's obvious that our current President would like to see every American in a Union - this was a hugely pro-union speech. He praised the "Freedom of Choice Act." He stated that it's the success of organized labor that has made this nation succeed, organized labor made this government succeed, and it's organized labor that will carry this movement and country forward.

He praised and promoted the public option in the "Health Care Reform". The way Obama explains his version and dream of health care reform very much sounds like "Unionized" health care - only on a national level, and as with "Card Check" - we the people will have very little choice in the matter if our Congress passes such a mess.

Obama hammered to the cheering AFL-CIO crowd the words "WE CAN'T WAIT" - "WE CAN'T WAIT". BUT, he failed to mention to this same crowd - that things in this reform WON'T take effect until 2012, AFTER his first term (and likely last) as President. If your health and your life DEPENDS on this "change" in health care - GOOD LUCK lasting until 2012 America!

Well - I've never been a member of "organized labor" EVER in my lifetime, and in my humble opinion - I'm all the better for it. I never made a "prevailing wage", I NEVER paid dues to any greedy union boss, I NEVER had someone else "negotiate" my standing with ANY employer! Today, I own three very small "mom & pop" companies and employ 22 Americans - all of whom make 100% to 200% ABOVE minimum wage, some even more.

His ideas on education reform appalled me! He actually SAID that it's our government's responsibility to bring our children "FROM CRADLE TO CLASSROOM - AND FROM COLLEGE TO CAREER!"

EXCUSE ME?? Last time I checked - my children have ALWAYS been MY responsibility. NO GOVERNMENT will claim responsibility nor indoctrination of MY children, grandchildren, nor great-grandchildren from cradle to classroom as long as I can breathe a breath of air to stop that! From college to career - that responsibility lies on the backs of the student! Of course, as parents where we can - we pay for college. Financial aid (loans, grants, and scholarship) is available - but the responsibility to learn, grow, and succeed - lies within the INDIVIDUAL!

Obama's speech ended again in pep-rally style - having the crowds chant "ALL FIRED UP" - "READY TO GO". I certainly hope common sense Americans are fired up - if this administration accomplishes all it wishes to - God help us all.

Sean Hannity Freedom Concerts - Have you ever been to one? AMAZING! Eight cities, Eight days, one month - all to celebrate our troops, their families, and AMERICA - AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE - AND CONSERVATISM!

I had the honor to attend the Vegas concert this last weekend. A surprise addition was Mark Levin, "The Great One", and since I listen to his radio show daily on my way home - I'd heard prior that he would be there.

Preface: I have long told my children that the schools were indoctrinating them - far against the way I was raised. In my day, NO BIT of history was left out. ALL SIDES of history, thoughts, doctrines, ideas were presented, and our teachers then left it up to us to decide which path to walk.

It's not so today. My kids (since all they know is what THEY were taught in THEIR time) always told me, "Oh Mom...it's not THAT bad"...Well...

My kids are 26 & 20. The 20 year old is a Sophomore at UNR as a business major. One night he called me late and said I might be right. In his English class - a big part of his semester grade was to read, study, and complete assignments of the Communist Manifesto!

I was appalled - not that his Professor wanted him to read that - just that NO ALTERNATIVE was offered. I believe that you should read all sides of life, learn all sides of life, THEN draw your own conclusion as to where you stand. It goes back to keep your friends close, but the enemies closer :) I also believe that IF you are presented TRUTH to all sides of life - HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY END UP ANY OTHER THAN CONSERVATIVE TO THE CORE?

NO alternative was offered - and I told my son NOT TO WORRY - I have the other side, and Mamas will ALWAYS present both sides to their children and let them grow and mature and decide. That's what a Democracy is about - THAT IS THE SPIRIT OF AMERICA!

I then gave my son Mark Levin's book Liberty & Tyranny - The Conservative Manifesto. He read it, AND LOVED IT.

I COULDN'T WAIT to get to Las Vegas - see Mark Levin in person, and tote my book from home for him to sign.

I get to Vegas to the venue - was the first person through my particular door of entrance to the venue - then I got in line. Behind HUNDREDS, and then a thousand or so - we wait for Mark to sign our books. People from all over the nation had brought their books from home - each with a personal story - just to have Mark sign it.

Mark Levin had about 1-1/2 hours to sign what I would guess 3000 books! I wouldn't want to be him! But he shook each of our hands quickly, signed the books, and I got to very quickly tell him my story of why I bought his book for my son that was forced to read the Communist Manifesto - His face softened, and he said, "Atta Girl"... Made the line worth while :) (NOTE: A BIG thanks to my husband Kevin for snapping these photos of a GREAT experience :) Love ya Babe!

Customer Compliment

Today, I had a pleasurable moment at work. As a multiple business owner, I am not at each location all the time - plus - I have "princess tendencies" that bring me in late (hahaha).

A customer came in for a repeat visit. He had been to our shop once before, but I had never met him. Today, I had the pleasure to wait on him when he picked up his vehicle and pay his bill. At first, he did not know I was the owner, just thought I was the secretary I think :)

He asked me, "Do you know why I came back here and love you guys?" I said No, but I'd sure like to hear. He remembered from his past repair, that an error had been made and we made it right. I then remembered that job, but had never met the actual man.

The last time he was in - we inadvertently billed him for a part that ended up not actually being needed on his truck. We returned the part, but did not remove it from his bill.

I caught the error in my daily duties a few weeks later, and sent the man a check for $40 something dollars and apologized for the error. He told me today when I met him that NOBODY from ANY company had ever sent him money BACK! He knew that I could have easily kept that $40 and no one would have ever been the wiser.

I remembered doing that - it was just the right thing to do. I didn't realize at the time that others might not. It made me feel really GOOD to know that doing the right thing made a real impact on my company's reputation, and brought a smile to the heart of a now loyal customer. I was just embarrassed at the time that we let an error like that slip by us!

I told him I appreciated his comments, introduced myself as the business owner, and told him - no worries. We try hard to do what we say we will do, with quality and timely performance. I also mentioned that I too must look into a mirror each day - and why would I keep $40 that didn't rightfully belong to me? We smiled and shook hands.

Ahhh - the little things in life that make your day :) It was a true pleasure serving this customer, and I hope many more feel the same way. It just feels so good to make someone else happy. I want us all to strive for more of that in our daily lives, our business lives, and just in general.

Friends Lost & Gone - Sad But True

What happens to people you used to know - used to look up to - and then "poof" life changes, circumstances change, and voila - a new sad person is born. HOW MANY times can you watch one individual be on top of the world - and then in the gutter AGAIN?

Sometimes it's not all sad - sometimes you just catch folks you still know in a 2 + 2 = 95 moment and you just shake your head. Thank goodness some make it, some don't, and I suppose at one moment or another in our own lives - we've been that person??? But only and hopefully after being in the gutter or close ONCE - you don't EVER end up there again - most figure it out and can call a medium to rock bottom the worst ever - but MULTIPLE trips to the bottom and the gutter???

Running errands today I ran into someone on the sidewalk outside a store. I nodded getting out of my car wearing sunshades and in a hurry. I knew that person saw me - that's why I nodded. They looked back, I smiled and got on out of my car.

Couldn't help myself - after passing my car and on my way into the store - I looked that person's direction - they looked back again - then came back and called my name.

From a distance I said, "how are ya?" - they said, "Oh - it's you." Then it was a sad moment I cannot do anything about anymore. This person overtly stated they aren't good again. Life sucks - I lost my job - I have this affliction, that one, and another one. I'm going to require multiple surgeries, I only have the VA, and I now have to live with a relative because I cannot take care of myself any longer.

However - this person was clean, wearing clean crisp clothes, and given the neighborhood I was in - I know this person walked at least half a mile to end up there on foot. This person had to lean the wall to stand up though - had been drinking a LONG time and smelled of it - and stood there on a sidewalk and cried like a baby while I tried to provide some words of common sense, good judgment, advice, and comfort.

This person used to be a great person - great job - great parent - great spouse. EVERYTIME now I run into this person over the last three years - always the same - TRAGEDY - cover ups - excuses - and yes - bad health.

One cannot walk miles though if they aren't capable of something. You give them phone numbers, you suggest avenues over the years for help. You OFFER these people EVERYTHING you have to offer INCLUDING LOTS of money - they still swim the gutter.

I don't want to be a total raving bitch - but at some point - after you've taught someone how to swim, after you've seen them at the top of the world more than once, and at the bottom more than thrice, and you STILL give them swimming lessons - some days - you almost want to tell them to jump.

Some people cannot be saved and that's sad...

"I asked Greg if anything ever happened to him where he'd prefer to be buried," Sgt. Rodriguez's wife, Laura, told the Morning Sun of Mount Pleasant, "and he told me Arlington, as he wanted to be among the best and the brave."

"Rod," as he was known to his Army buddies, was a Red Wings fan who loved to hassle fans of other hockey teams he met during his military career, said Laura. "Greg loved to push everyone's buttons and get people going with his rare, unique sense of sarcasm," she said. At the same time, her husband, a military police dog handler whose dog, Jacko, survived the fatal ambush, was "a very committed, loyal individual and could be counted on whenever needed."

Sgt. 1st Class Gregory A. Rodriguez died of wounds suffered in Ana Kalay, Afghanistan, when his mounted patrol came under small-arms fire.

"My brother liked to be the law," said Lisa Dombrowski. "He liked justice. If it wasn't right, he made it right."

He is survived by his sister, wife and three children.

Politics Seems to be BULLSHIT!

I only got involved in politics about 2 years ago. But what I've learned so far climbing "up the ranks" and that's not saying much to where I am...but it all still seems to be BULLSHIT! From local, to state, and then to national politics, all I see so far is one against another, and what will benefit whom?

What MY FOLKS taught me 46 years ago was who COULD benefit whom - and THAT meant helping one another - it meant FAIRNESS - it meant FISCAL responsibility, and it MEANT that ANYBODY that GOT elected could at least add 2 + 2! It meant that when we elected or appointed an official, THEY would ACTUALLY REPRESENT the PEOPLE! TODAY - NOTHING - NOW who can benefit who means who gets pay back on what someone donated to them, or which STUPID law benefits MONEY that brought the elected official to office.

It's NO LONGER about WE THE PEOPLE! NOT how it was when I WAS LEARNING ABOUT American History - NOT WHAT MY FOUNDING FATHERS DID!

Republicans argue with Democrats...Gays argue among Straights...Hispanics / Asians / Muslims / Jews / Christians / and ANYBODY I left out still seem to ARGUE in 2009!

It's ALL BULLSHIT! The CONSTITUTION of America is what made this Country GREAT! Many don't even KNOW what the constitution EVEN SAYS! AMERICA made America the MELTING POT, and I guess TODAY, I'm questioning WHY we allowed the ones that wanted to melt with the rest of us TODAY QUESTION our ORIGINAL intentions?

The ORIGINAL intention of our Founding Fathers (and YES they were men...and for the WOMEN that take fault to that should RECONSIDER their position...accepting the amendments to the Constitution thereof that have made it OK)...There was NEVER anything WRONG with STRONG women making a home, having a job, and supporting what AMERICA was all about :)

IF YOU came here from somewhere else, you OBVIOUSLY came here because YOU thought it was BETTER, and YOU wanted to be an AMERICAN! So, to come here and force YOUR laws, and YOUR culture ON US - means YOU REALLY LIKED where you WERE! So...WHY come here and try to CHANGE AMERICA? After all, you CAME here, and WE let you in...so WHY try to CHANGE the WHOLE AMERICA???

YES, we welcomed you, and YES we welcomed some of your culture...your food, your religious beliefs, you are FREE to hold them...BUT YOU ARE NOT FREE TO MANDATE THEM TO ALL OF US THAT WERE ALREADY HERE! It's cool to bring your culture here, but it's NOT COOL to CHANGE AMERICA to BE whatever YOU WERE! If you LOVED what you WERE, then WHY did you come HERE in the FIRST PLACE!

To THOSE people that came here - you are welcomed to participate in OUR BELIEFS,...and might I say WELCOMED to your OWN beliefs, but you ARE NOT WELCOME to CHANGE the way America...AMERICA believes; since what AMERICA believed is WHAT formed this country!

If you risked your very LIFE to get HERE - then WHY do YOU want to CHANGE US to be LIKE what you risked your LIFE to LEAVE? I just don't get that - therefore I don't accept what's going on today!

I was going to post ALL the political parties that have existed to this day, but Wikepedia is too bore some, because IT ISN'T accurate! BUT THERE WERE SO MANY! AND it didn't EVEN mention the parties of LONG ago like the Whig party (I neither agree or disagree...just saying they exist - ALL parties existed!), and there were other parties never mentioned - I don't take favor to any particularly except the COMMON SENSE party that has NEVER been formed - and I WOULD call that party Conservative! I don't care WHO you are, or WHO you screw, WHO you raise your MONEY from - if you cannot see that Conservatism and Capitalism WORKS - then too bad, so sad, I'll leave you dangling in your entitlement mentality and you can see just how Socialist hope and change works out for you in the end!

I'm about DONE with the WHOLE LOT OF YOU, and what it brings to be active. THE AMERICAN PEOPLE will reign in the end - and I don't HAVE to go to meetings, be campaign managers, campaign on my time, nor DONATE to KNOW what the AMERICAN PEOPLE CAN DO!

I'm still involved today, but we ARE in a different time today, and things are strange. I will NO LONGER vote nor support a candidate that WON'T carry him/her self as to the BEST INTEREST OF WE THE PEOPLE!

I consider myself a staunch Republican, but if MY CANDIDATES WON'T take the best interest of the PEOPLE to heart - and THEY worry about "moderation" - perhaps I'll give UP politics in general and just FIGHT FOR THE PEOPLE...

Oh Yeah...there's a cute chick in Alaska named Sarah Palin that just did that - we'll see yet if she's for REAL - but I'm hopin' SHE'S starting the next mannerly revolution :)

Wednesday Hero - Cpl. Reynold Armand

Reynold Armand didn’t want to wait until he turned 18 to join the Marines. He persuaded his adoptive mother to sign papers allowing him to sign up a year early.

"I'm very proud of him," said his father, Carl Armand. "When he was home, he gave no sign of being afraid." Armand didn’t speak much about his experiences in Iraq, according to family members, saying only that most Iraqi civilians he encountered were very nice.

"We used to send him a lot of candy," said his mother, Alma Armand. "He would pass it out."

Manny Rodriguez, 21, of Rochester met Armand five years ago at New Day Church in Rochester, where both young men were members of the youth group. "He was such an amazing all-around person. He was so easy and comfortable to be around. He liked people for who they are."

No definitive report could be found on how Cpl. Armand died. Some report that he was killed when shot and others report that he was killed by an IED that exploded near his vehicle in Balad, Iraq.

Health Care Excessive Costs

I just recently went to the doctor for numbness in my hand. Thought I had carpal tunnel syndrome - NO - I have cubital tunnel syndrome, from the tunnel in the elbow instead. Yes it was a "specialist" I went to, not the average doctor.

Just got a bill today for what I owe the doctor - not too bad at $53. I paid a $40 copay at the door. THEN - I looked at the REST of the statement. I spent just over an hour with this doctor, and the bill was about $3800 dollars!!! Yep it's nice that I only had to cover $93 dollars of that - but WTF?

I figured out the numbers - if a doctor can see 5 patients a day at $3800 per hour or so given lunch hour - note time - in and out time - etc...that's $19,000 per day income. Given an average 20 day work month allowing for off time, holidays, etc...that's $380,000 per month income to an office.

Yep there's rent, there's paying the salaries of say 5 people (2 nurses for a large office, 2 office staff, and 1 dedicated to filing insurance claims). How much do you figure a doctor's office employee makes - obviously the nurses more, but office staff...how much?

I'm a business owner and I employ 22 people - OURSELVES included as owners. Our insurance premiums are HUGE because of a small group. I feel BADLY that I went to a specialist to fix my elbow problem - and I know for every dollar spent at a doctor's office, our premiums go up or down reflecting who uses the policy. Just IMAGINE when someone has to have a surgery or a catastrophic event befalls them...what that does to our premiums - and we all split the costs evenly. We as employers pay half and HALF of all dependents - it's STILL INSANE! A guy with a wife and a couple of kids is looking toward $800-$1000 per month!

I manage to draw a nice salary, I employ 22 people - NOBODY in our companies makes less than $14 per hour, and the producers make over $20 - some up toward $30 per hour. WE NEVER HAVE $380,000 PER MONTH IN GROSS INCOME!!! Between 3 companies employing 22 people and 14 of those 22 are PRODUCERS, not like ONE doctor in an office that produces alone - we're lucky to maybe have between us all even close to that kind of gross income. Health care is INSANELY EXPENSIVE! Do the math!

Large companies can employ hundreds of people. Back in my gaming days I worked for a company with 2800 employees - MY ENTIRE FAMILY was covered with lower co-pays and a premium of about $200 per month. WTF?

Our current health care system is SCREWED UP! The government is certainly no answer - they can't even read a bill before they vote on one! I'd love to hear your thoughts...give me YOUR opinions on how we can stop the madness before the Government attempts to do it for us!

What does a FREE AND STRONG AMERICA MEAN TO YOU?

Give Romney's PAC $50 and you might win an all expense paid trip to see a ball game at Fenway Park sitting in the Romney Family's seats :) Consider it a raffle ticket :) Many complained that it cost something to enter...goes to my entry...America is still a FREE country. Pay it and enter ONE DAY LEFT...or don't...but DON'T judge those of us that did!

"PEOPLE RISE, carry forth what founding Fathers intended, ABIDE the Constitution. GREAT document at inception.

GET OVER ENTITLEMENT MENTALITY, GET OVER “Political Correctness”…Free Speech IS. QUIT getting FEELINGS HURT over someone DISAGREEING, then attempting to take morbid, legal action against said person… otherwise we’re stuck in moldy turmoil called endless conundrum!

GET MORALS back! SAY NO to someone, AND HAVE THEM understand NO MEANS NO…keep extremes between yourselves under cover of your private home, NOT in main-stream. It’s OK to have ENFORCED RULE stating things are better left unsaid or undone… Americans cherish freedom… keep some freedoms to yourselves if you don’t particularly like enforced rule of civility, moral behavior, or common sense!

BE FISCAL! It’s long been said that money is the root of all evil, but lack of it breeds evil! If America doesn’t FIRST deal with FISCAL; WE CANNOT heal social, political, or varied issues. YOU CANNOT SPEND WHAT YOU DON’T HAVE! Government has NO MONEY! They’re elected officials that serve US – WE DON’T SERVE THEM! Government HAS NOTHING they don’t gain from US! The more they take from those providing, the LESS WE HAVE TO PROVIDE. When they’ve taken ENOUGH to make all equal… NO MORE to take and NOBODY left to provide!

EVERYBODY has a calling. Take that calling to the best of your ability WITHOUT Government intervening, prosper and abound. Keep morals strong, efforts true. WE THE PEOPLE ARE THE BEST PEOPLE on earth…if we just go BACK to how America CAME TO BE!"

IT'S SO HARD for an activist blabbermouth like ME to say ANYTHING in 250 words or less...but I did it in EXACTLY 250 words. Although I couldn't cover illegal immigration here...I'm pretty sure enforced law and SAY NO 'bout covers that too :) Good luck to me and anybody else that entered or will...

Wednesday Hero - Pvt. William Long

"My brother taught me valuable lessons and made me the man I am today," said Pfc. Triston Long, brother of Pvt. William Long. "My commander said, 'Make your brother one of us.' I will miss my brother with all that I am, and I serve in honor of him."

Pvt. William Long had just completed basic training and was set to ship out on June 8 to his first duty station in Korea when he and Private Second Class Quinton Ezeagwula were shot outside a Little Rock, Arkansas Army-Navy Recruiting Center by Abdul Hakim Mujahid Muhammad. They were in Little Rock to speak to with potential recruits about their experiences.

Pvt. Long's father, Daris Long, a former Marine, wrote a letter to give to him when he shipped out for South Korea. In that letter he wrote, "Your day only ends when you’ve done your duty. You and your brother … are both heroes for having the moral courage to stand up when your country needs you most. You are in my hopes and my thoughts and my prayers. You are my son, you are my hero. I love you. Semper fidelis."

Along with his father and brother, Pvt. William Long is survived by his mother, Janet, who had served in the Navy herself.

New Legislation OR Pre-Planned Conspiracy?

I SWEAR - I'm NOT a Conspiracy Theorist! However...I'm living in a time unlike anything I've ever seen in my lifetime, and I'm 46. I'm amazed lately at the lightning speed in which rules are changed...both nationally and locally.

Each new "regulation", or "new law" up to and including BOTH my "Obama" administration AND my Nevada legislation...has creepily had RESULTS BEFORE the ink was dry on the paper!

Obama signs a new bill...within 3 days it seems I get new updates on my business software to compensate for the new expenditures/rules! My Nevada legislature signs a new law, and before the ink is dry I get a letter in the mail explaining the NEW way I must fill out tax forms or meet tax obligations, and / or I get a strange check in the mail that might benefit me TODAY, but it WON'T benefit future home buyers!

Is all this stuff pre-planned? HOW CAN IT BE...it's NOT efficiency I ASSURE you that's causing all this. In years past...you almost had to ask or beg for new rules after they were passed in "Congress" to insure yourself you were obliging to new regulations before you might be penalized for not doing so. Today...news airs...next 3 days you get notification! In a country of 300,000,000 folks..."they" are NOT that efficient!

"They" also aren't fooling anyone! Folks that study bills before State Legislature or Washington Congress can READ BETWEEN the lines! Every county in my state has a different sales tax %. Reno has been 7.375% since I've been in business...but we had an allowance credit for paying on time that got cut in half in the bad economy. That comes out of MY pocket. Sales Tax that I PAY my county is none other than writing a check for that which I collect...called a "wash" for those in the business know.

For business owners...we got a "notice" that our allowance for making timely payments was cut in half from Jan.-June. Well...it's June. We also heard that sales tax going up was a passed measure in Legislature! Well...let me read you the letter...paraphrased yet accurate!

The previous reduction in the collection allowance (Jan-June) will remain in effect for ALL FUTURE RETURNS. In addition...the local school support tax of sales & use tax will increase from 2.25% to 2.60% (don't EVEN know what that is but SOMEBODY is paying it!)...as of July 1, 2009. Based on these increases...here...blah blah are new tax rates...Reno...7.725%????? While SOME...MIDDLE CLASS folks bear these increases...they make it seem like tax rates went DOWN from 7.735% to 7.725%??? Maybe some other counties really got humped...I only keep up with mine :) BUT...BANGING average folks for the INCREASES and LOWERING the sales tax to consumers by a miniscule amount...DOES NOT MAKE FOR LOWER TAXES!

HELLO!!! The INCREASES that are MORE are paid by the average folk, the same way you give us a percentage of a penny OFF our sales tax??? Don't you government folk THINK WE the LITTLE PEOPLE can actually DO MATH??? "You" GOVERNMENT stick a rose in our faces while you stick a hot poker up our butts and think WE don't know the difference given your convoluted formulas of "government math".

Let me spell it out for any Republican or Democrat out there. 2+2=4. Dividing CRAZY ideas into REAL numbers only leads to failure. YOU aren't fooling ANYBODY! Nevada Legislature's idea of 4...Obama and his Congress's idea of 4 is NOWHERE EQUAL TO 2+2! GIVE US A FREAKING BREAK ALREADY!!!!

"They" cannot EVEN account for all the bail out money...but by God...I've gotten notices of me paying MORE immediately! A bad bill passed in Nevada that is "good for me" as a homeowner that "already" owned a home...got a tax abatement check.

For new homeowners...they are going to pay taxes on full market value of anything purchased if my thinking is correct. The only "roll-back" to pre-so-in-so tax values was going to require this if my study is true! BUT...just saying...things are happening QUICK these days...like "they" ALREADY knew what was going to happen before it did!

Am I crazy? OR...does anybody else notice this?

I swear...I never thought I'd live to see the things happening right before my own eyes today. One man managed in 6 months to spend more money than ever before in 30 administrations before him. One man has managed to appall the masses (even the ones that voted for him)...

The last time I "overly" shook my head was when Jimmy Carter was in office. But today, I'm beginning to think I've contracted a terminal case of both Parkinson's Disease and TMJ all at the same time! I walk around each day with my head continually shaking and my jaw dropped (it's locked in that dropped position), as I watch my President throwing away 200+ years of history.

There might have been a report of a volatile dirt explosion...I'm not sure...but I'm pretty sure wherever the founding fathers are buried...a huge explosion occurred, as I don't think a simple "roll-over" would have been sufficient enough for them in their graves! I'm pretty sure their graves either EXPLODED, or IMPLODED, and the smell of RIGHTEOUSNESS must be prevalent wherever they exist! For the ones that were creameated...it must look worse than the LaBron James Powder show in the playoffs!

Obama now has Czars...bunches of them (about 13-16) I think...since when does the USA need Czars? (Czar is the definition of a ruler of Russia until the 1917 Revolution, or one in GREAT power). Nobody really knows who they are...who they report to, or what the consequences will be if they don't perform admirably? They just are, and they get paid WELL on YOUR dime!

I think Obama must have been "absent" for 9-11, and much before and after. I think Obama learned A LOT while he was in that Madrassa in Indonesia as a small child. After attending Rev. Wright's "christian church" for a long time...he hasn't been bothered with religion at all lately. I can't talk...I haven't stepped foot in a church for years either...but I PRAY regularly and those that know me know I depend on my Christian beliefs and spirituality to get me by always. Church can be at home, it can be anywhere...but most that participate at LEAST talk about that practice on a regular basis! Obama only preaches the NEEDS of the other peoples, not the Americans who hold Christianity dear. Don't get me wrong...Christians by belief accept, welcome, and tolerate freedom of all religions...I've just never seen such a "Muslim "christian" before"...

My President gave up Reverend Wright to spend my taxpayer dollars to travel to the Middle East and quote the Quran! NO OTHER POTUS has EVER done that! I see dictators and savage militants laughing at my President calling him Comrade and joking that THEY are more Conservative than he...and it's true. No doubt Obama is a Liberal...but to have Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro LESS Liberal than you is spooky!

Obama basically snubs Israel and the Jews...but he sure loves the Muslims...NOT the Christians or Catholics, or the Methodists, Episcipalions, Church of Christ, Jewish people, or any other Christian religion that actually believes in GOD and true kindness and responsibility! He said on his first day of his tour, he was happy to be there where Islam began! Couldn't bother to go to Israel though...Couldn't even bother to go to Kenya to visit Grandma who witnessed his birth...oh yea...he's had a gag order placed upon "that part" of his family since his Grandma "ratted him out" for NOT being born in Hawaii...he's spent about $2 Million in legal defenses against the 12 or so lawsuits against him for producing no legitimate birth certificate...when producing a legitimate one would have ended it all!

I've been alive for all Presidents from Kennedy through Obama, and NO President has ever "given me the CREEPS"...this one does. It's TOO CREEPY that he's managed to destroy America in less than 6 months. All politicians are a bit arrogant, but he's narcissist, and arrogant beyond any other. He continually makes speeches and looks from side to side, points that finger horizontally OVER and over...and NEVER LOOKS US in the eye!

A man that cannot LOOK YOU IN THE EYE has MUCH to hide! Pelosi or Reid cannot look into the eye either. (Excuse me...Pelosi DOES look you in the eye...she just waves her hands a lot and states..."I've said ALL I'm going to say about that." We're in a BIG MESS...and while I always try to get along with my Democrat friends...I hope this is the CHANGE you were hoping for...as for me...I just HOPE I survive long enough to see him gone out of office! It's a real shame to see what Obama and the Democrats and the liberal media have done to this Country!

Even the flag that flies in front of my house is depressed! The wind never seems to kick up in the right direction anymore to make it fly STRAIGHT OUT! It just seems to kind of limp there and fly sometimes, but mostly just hang...even in Nevada winds. When it is windy...it seems to just get all wadded up in itself! God Bless the USA even if our President WON'T.

Reno CANCELS Fireworks 4th of July

Folks...some TRUE news is SO BIZARRE...you just can't make this kind of craziness up! And yet you find yourself head in hands pulling your hair out as to how grown adults in charge of a city of several hundred thousand people actually meet and DECIDE that THIS is what's best for ALL OF US!!!

"The Reno City Council agreed Friday to cancel fireworks for the Fourth of July, bowing out to the much bigger Star-Spangled Sparks show in downtown Sparks. It will use that money and other funds to support special events."

Oh Goody!...just what "special events" are we going to use that money on?

"The council agreed that the $7,500 planned for fireworks would be better spent supporting the national hand cycling championship that will be part of the Tour de Nez bicycle classic on June 17-20...With that backing, “we could get them every year and make it into a bigger event,” Councilman Dave Aiazzi said."

WOW! hand cycling over 4th of July Fireworks!!! Yippeee!!! But WAIT!!! It gets better...

Ronald Reagan is Not the New GOP - OLD SCHOOL

BUT...I'm growing ever increasingly tired of Reaganomics, Reaganophics, The Reagan Principle, Reaganesque!!! It's like people DON'T realize that when you were young...and little Johnny and little Bobby lived next door...they BOTH had great dads...but like your always hearing that only ONE of those dads ever mattered!

Reagan was great...and he may have been the last thing Republicans can remember that great... but if that's true? IF A PARTY ONLY has one guy that is rememberable enough to mention, and he was great in the '80's...you gotta see we're in TROUBLE!

WHEN ARE CONSERVATIVES GOING TO STAND BACK UP (in the 'real' world of actual elected officials) AND REALIZE THAT IT'S WE - WE - WE THE PEOPLE that think Conservative (maybe like Reagan)...but like millions of others JUST LIKE HIM!

GOOD POLITICS is NEVER going to be about one man or woman! It's about WE. It's a TEAM effort to make this country great! Reagan was a wonderful man and politician...but he is just one man amongst millions of great country men and women!

What Reagan represents that NOBODY likes to bring up is "Old School"! Guess What? I'm at that PERFECT AGE to see it come full circle LOL :) When I bucked as a youngster...I thought my folks were "such 'Old School' "...I have grown kids now...that have lived through the bucking, and now we laugh about how they used to think I was 'Old School'...but guess what else? Old School in my generation, in theirs, and in the 'old schools' of our parents and grandparents is WHAT WORKED!

IT WASN'T JUST REAGAN!!!!! GOP-get back to 'Old School'...and just leave Reagan to live out his peace in his grave! There are millions like Reagan...and some even better is my guess...get on with getting it all out...

Mother's Day 2009

Later this month, my two sons will be 26 & 20!!! They're no less my babies today however than on that awesome May, 23 26 years ago :)

My boys showed up this morning and made me biscuits & gravy with scrambled eggs for breakfast (at the appropriate not too early time of 10am LOL). A graceful glass swan came for me with a single fragrant rose. I received a beautiful house/plant flower called Guzmania or Soledo. It's a gorgeous plant and I just can't decide if I'll keep this one in the house, or make it a permanent addition to my yard :) All was complete with cards that always make my eye leak :)

Without fail, my boys always come up with very unique and personal gifts. They found from their grandmother, and gave to me an old cassette tape from March, 1983 (two months before my eldest was even born) of me playing the piano. Mostly gospel, some pop (of that day and before), and a couple of country tunes. What a blast from the past...I was 20 years old when that was done :)

I LOVE YOU BOYS! Thanks for yet again another perfect Mother's Day. I've always said... God's greatest gift to me ever was the amazing gift to have been your Mother :)

Spring Planting in Reno

Oh...Lawdy, Lawdy, Miss Clawdy! I don't have a green thumb...not even a brown one LOL! I have a BLACK thumb hahaha!

Last year, I damn near killed myself trying to have the perfect yard, since I'd just moved into this neighborhood, into this beautiful home...and I bought FLATS of FLOWERS that I just could never get around to planting.

I planted sometimes 60 per day! Then...I was DONE...and didn't plant more for many days...therefore some I'd purchased...died in the garage...never having seen the light of day :) "Don't even tell me you've never done that....I won't believe you LOL!"

This year...I decided (my 2nd Spring in this home)...I'd do it different :) THIS YEAR...I will ONLY purchase 12 per day...as twelve can be done in a quick hour or so...still get dinner out...still watch a movie...etc...LOL...

TODAY...I wake up to this beautiful day and finally think FLOWERS! I KNOW it's MAY 9th, the very day before Mother's day...but in Reno....you still pray on May 9 you might NOT have yet another 3-4" snow yet to come LOL :) (It HAS snowed here on July 4th before)...

I'm looking out the window of my office, and the snow is ALL GONE (for now) on Peavine Mt. The old folk have always told me NEVER plant before the snow is off Peavine :) Sad truth is... Peavine has been naked twice already...I just decided at May 9...maybe it will STAY naked :)

I went to the flower store...and yep...they were all JUST SO BEAUTIFUL...I couldn't do with 12. I purchased 24 that HAVE to be planted. I purchased two "buckets" of flowers that can just be placed and watered :) (I like those...less work for me LOL)...

I dug 24 holes. I fertilized 24-4" deep holes. I then planted 24 separate flowers. I then covered 24 holes. I then sprinkled 24 holes with rich soil. I then mixed appropriate feeding water for 24 holes. I placed my "batched flowers" upon my posts... I'm not sure they don't look hokey...but they smell good and I love them :) I asked my husband...he said it was OK... then my neighbor came out and said they looked nice...but standard gardner brown plastic buckets on stucco posts...I'm not sure. I like them...but some in this neighborhood are all about the realism...

After I planted 24 flowers...I look back at my bushes...and it doesn't like I did much of anything! 24 flowers doesn't go very far...Much Planting Ahead in my future :)

I KNOW MY TEXAS & RENO FRIENDS WILL TELL ME THE TRUTH....do my bucket flowers look OK on my posts at the front of the house? LOL...thanks for your input :)

I finished my task...but decided...I should stick to 12 per day... I will post more pictures as our summer goes on.

Wednesday Hero - 1st Lt. Michael A. Cerrone

24 years old from Clarksville, Tennessee
2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division
November 12, 2006

Cerrone's men said in written statements of remembrance that he put their safety and welfare first. He lead from the front and all of the paratroopers would "unquestionably" follow him into battle.

His platoon sergeant, Sgt. 1st Class Ronald H. Berryhill, said Cerrone was more than a leader, but a friend and "little brother."

He remembers the first day Cerrone got to the unit. At the time, he was shy and quiet. But after a few months, he became more outspoken.

"I am truly blessed to have known him and to serve under his leadership," Berryhill wrote. "He will never be forgotten. I will carry him with me always and I will always watch over his platoon. We will make him proud of his boys."

Sgt. Cerrone was killed when a suicide bomber detonated the bomb he had strapped to himself in Samarra, Iraq. Also killed in the attack was Specialist Harry "Buck" Winkler. You can read more at BLACKFIVE.

These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.

Ed Carlson - Reno's Waver

Ed's BACK! I wrote a story long ago about Reno's icon eccentric Ed The Waver. A seeming hippie with a story of unconditional love that walked to the moon and back, and almost everybody waved :) STORY HERE.

The VIDEO portion of that story is "currently temporarily unavailable"! I've written those folks to FIX THAT SOON, because his video is priceless on many levels. I included the "link" in case it does get fixed. He does chant a strange mantra as he walks...it's on the video...that I can't show you right now! I've found no other record of that chant. But...Ed has graced our roads & highways since the 1970's with kindness and a WAVE :)

My son's girlfriend works at the VA hospital here locally...and thankfully is also one of the few that follows my blog (love ya E) :) Since she had read my previous story of Ed the Waver...she recognized him immediately when he came in recently for an appointment and she had the pleasure to serve him.

She told him of my story on my blog, and asked him if he could give her something as a momento of their actual meeting. He gave her an autograph. Now most would think that an autograph is just a signing of a name. NOT FOR THE WAVER! This must be the most amazing and most intriguing autograph I've ever seen. SEE TOP LEFT STORY PICTURE - CLICK TO ENLARGE :)

It took me a while to actually READ all of it...and decipher it...and try to figure out what seemed like hyrogliphs within it...BUT I FIGURED IT OUT!...and it only made me wish I could give this odd fellow a nod and say Thanks Again for being a true icon of Nevada... The strange "quotes" or "designs" within the autograph...are the WORDS he CHANTS as he walks our highways, streets, & neighborhoods and just continues his misson to WAVE :) Of course, the hand drawn within is his...traced...as another wave :)

Cookout Capital - BBQ Reno

I love Nevada :) It's nice to know that Blue Rhino (the folks that provide your BBQ propane tanks) elected Reno, NV as the 9th BEST city in ALL OF USA for cookouts :)

Our ranking was based on the fact that we have SO MANY rain free days with temperatures under 90 degrees from May through August. Yea Baby! The grill at my house is hoppin' several nights a week...even in the winter LOL :)

Arlen Specter CHANGES PARTY

BOY! The underlying drama of each day in the White House lately is so bizarre; even Stephen King couldn't make this crap up!

79 year old Pennsylvania Senator, Arlen Specter today (after closed door meetings with Harry Reid & the ilk), decided the only chance he has to win his next election bid in 2010 is to CHANGE PARTIES and become a Democrat! Pat Toomey almost beat him in the last election, and will most likely beat him for sure in 2010.

DEMOCRATS - BE VERY AWARE OF THIS MAN - THIS POST IS NOT ABOUT POLITICS - THIS REGARDS SERIOUS CHARACTER FLAWS!

Specter's decision now gives the Senate the desperately desired 60 vote majority that is filibuster- proof. The current group of politicians has long been in chase of this victory. They wiled their way around folks until they found the perfect fall guy...the guy that is centrist and moderate, and the guy that's 79 years old!

My Daddy told me LONG YEARS AGO!!!, "Malinda...no matter how little or how much you have...ALWAYS stand by your God, Family, Principles, Guns, & Money...for if you CAN be bought...you WILL MOST CERTAINLY BE SOLD later on!

#1: The Democrats WILL sell Arlen Specter down the river later on...he will FOREVER be beholding to them for whatever was spoken in that back room.

#2: The Democrats of Pennsylvania SHOULD NOT vote for this guy in 2010! Find your own qualified candidate that stands by his own convictions. If Arlen Specter turned on his party of 40 years...he will turn on you if the offer is good enough! BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE!

#3: WE WILL NEVER KNOW the underlying promises of this deal, but trust me, it's ugly. I believe Mr. Specter will long regret selling his soul for political gain...or not...

Michele Beard NEW Nevada GOP Chairman (Washoe County/Reno) - Harry Reid NO MORE!

Tonight, Reno, NV made history. Reno is Washoe County, and we elected a new President/Chair for the Washoe County Republicans. CONGRATULATIONS! TO MICHELE BEARD!

NOW FOR MY NATIONAL READERS...IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ ALL OF THIS...SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM PARAGRAPH...IT'S IMPORTANT AS HELL...

Sounds simple enough, but it's NOT! Washoe County has about 500,000 citizens...along with the rural counties that add a few more to Northern Nevada. Reno is the forever "labeled" red-headed step child of Las Vegas (Clark County). It's NOT! Reno, Sparks/Washoe County IS THE BACKBONE of the Nevada Republican Party and the DIRE DESIRE to become what the GOP used to stand for. Las Vegas/Henderson comprises TWO OF THE THREE congressional districts in Nevada! Sadly, Clark County (due to its close proximity to California and the mass influx of residents that moved here from CA) is HUGELY Liberal! We do have a Republican Senator from Vegas...but it's tough down South, and my jury's out on Senator Ensign's true commitment to true Conservatism due to the sheer pressure of the Libs there on his positions.

In what I'm going to call a surprising defeat, our own "term-limited-out" State Senator Maurice Washington lost to Michele at the election tonight. The great part of good politics (yes there are GOOD politics), is that when you have two great candidates running, someone must lose.

I saw grass roots America speak out tonight in Washoe County, and I am pleasantly surprised, but that comes with a great plea to give the deserved person that won the support she needs from the ENTIRE NATION! WE MUST DEFEAT HARRY REID IN 2010!

I will admit here on this blog that I voted for State Senator Washington...FOR THE REASON THAT HE HAS NOTORIETY, IS A GREAT AND FABULOUS ORATOR, STICKS 95% TO ALL CONSERVATIVE VALUES, AND COULD BE A NATIONAL NAME THAT FOLKS COULD RECOGNIZE in our fight to defeat Harry Reid in 2010. He has a LOT of experience that would have made him a viable candidate :) I also thought he could stand a better chance of raising the estimated $30,000,000 it's thought will take to DEFEAT Harry Reid! Scary isn't it...that a little 'ole state in the Wild Wild West must raise a freaking 30 MILLION in order to defeat bad judgment! He is a GREAT NEVADAN, he is a GREAT and often lonely voice voting FOR US in our Nevada Legislature! I really love the dickens out of this guy...but Nevada, Washoe County chose another GREAT NEVADAN...a simple everyday local GREAT AMERICAN, NEVADAN to hold this position!

However...let it ALSO BE SAID ON THIS BLOG...that Michele Beard has been EVERYWHERE in the last few years where Northern Nevada Politics has had a voice. Her dedication to the GOP in Nevada has been impeccable! She is KNOWLEDGEABLE, she has a great military background, she knows the in's and out's of EVERY ASPECT of the county's voting population. She has been tireless in her efforts to support every qualified and successful Nevada Conservative elected official from dog catcher to senator! She WAS PRESENT for all the woes and wants while Nevada struggled through having many viable Presidential Candidates in 2008 come through Nevada, a Swing State...and even though some didn't want McCain...she fought hard to try and promote him as the MORE VIABLE candidate (ANYBODY BUT) Obama.

She has served completely dedicated and without pay to the exiting President/Chair of our county's GOP for multiple years. Our GOP offices are all based on a volunteer basis. Probably the thing that hurt Senator Washington was the desire to have a paid staff. NEVADA CONSERVATIVES ARE ALL ABOUT NOT SPENDING MONEY WHERE MONEY DOESN'T NEED TO BE SPENT...call us crazy...we NEED money...but for our candidates to WIN...NOT to pay the people informed and active in getting them there :)

Michele pulls no punches, she works hard and fair through honesty, parliamentary procedure, she listens to the people, and is beholding to NO ONE. She's never held any "official paid office" regarding politics that I know of. She's only attended legislation...not been "one of them"...and she is a bit plain in her appearance to the public. What I mean by that...is she isn't a dynamic speaker, she doesn't move mountains when she speaks...she just does, and she just says it like it is...BUT what she says is correct to a fault, and she's always given her positions her all. You know...JUST A NORMAL FOLK LIKE ALL OF WE ARE!

I figured tonight that our "more public and popular" State Senator that has served many terms as a State politician was a shoe in for the office. BUT...as grass roots as Senator Washington IS... it proved to be that Nevadans WANT REAL grass roots and REAL locals to head our County Political Party ;)

Tonight's vote was HARD for me. I was undecided up until the last moment. I had enough faith in our grass roots body that I believed that IT'S IMPORTANT ENOUGH to get rid of Reid that I voted for someone I thought could have a little better shot at making that happen.

I actually held my pen in hand and twitched a couple of times...before I voted. SO...I CAN SAY WITH A CLEAR CONSCIENCE THAT I'M PROUD OF MICHELE!!! It was that last twitch of my pen that made me X the other candidate.

So to my nation... To my readers... To ANYONE that thought that someone more "famous" should have won...WATCH OUT! Michele will be here for us all...(and if she finds a hard day... there's plenty of US to pick her up), even Senator Washington and the REST OF THE REPUBLICAN LEGISLATURE!!!...THE ENTIRE UNITED STATES NEEDS TO BE BEHIND THIS WOMAN!!!

Nevada spoke out today in fine fashion. In Carson City, NV our capitol, crowd estimates are between 2000-3000. The streets were lined with law abiding, tax paying, fiscally responsible, AMERICAN patriots whom have been labeled by the Obama DHS as "right wing ex tremists", this link IS THE REPORT. The funny side of that is that among our thousands that held tea parties in Nevada today...MANY were in fact Democrats. Welcome Democrats to the "domestic terrorist" category LOL! (Pictures from Carson from KRNV Channel 4 Reno). I even saw one sign that said "Obama-YES - Harry Reid - NO". Just goes to show you that ALL Americans are TEA'D OFF!

You Tube Video HERE :) Isn't it funny that we were SUCH a PEACEFUL crowd, laughing a lot, and having local citizens HONK at us a lot..and we ended up NO THREAT to society :) I couldn't get my camera up quick enough, but EVEN a police car flashed a PRO sign to us from a window. I could only catch most of it with my eyes as it turned, but I think it said "Don't Spread My Wealth, Spread My Work Ethic". It was PRICELESS and damn...couldn't get it quick enough :) Thank you to our local police officers that KNEW we were a peaceful yet determined crowd, and appreciated our laughter, music, signs, and our peaceful demonstration! It ALSO ROCKED that a RTC Bus Driver HONKED at us, and so did a Waste Management truck. It was so COOL that people of ALL walks of life from the elite wealthy to the working guys & gals that couldn't join us ALL AGREE that it's damn TIME that WE THE PEOPLE are represented!

Unfortunately, I couldn't attend Carson's rally...I had a business to attend to...but I was proudly in attendance in Reno this evening for the REJECT REID 2010 demonstration / tea party. We were proudly donned in our red "Reject Reid" T-shirts complete with tea bag necklaces with stars, flags, and even an elephant :). We fought the bitter cold and terrible winds. Approximately 200+ folks showed up for the event.

This event was sparked largely due to outrage that our own Republican Mayors Bob Cashell (Reno) right, and Geno Martini (Sparks) left, were co-hosts at a downtown Reno reception/fund raiser for the DIShonorable Stinky Pinky Harry Reid. Minimum $500 donation, but suggested $2000 PAC contribution was expected to allow entrance to this dastardly event.

In my video I caught Mayor Geno Martini coming out of the reception. He was all smiles, and gracious to our crowd. I heard one attendee say to him cheerfully, "Shame on You!". He replied with a cheerful (shrugged shoulders), "Oh Well..." Oh Well mayor...enjoy your term, you WON'T be re-elected by Nevada Republicans...get that resume polished up :)

Amazingly, and I'm sure as a campaign strategy...Harry Reid agreed FINALLY to appear on our local Conservative talk radio station KKOH today on the Bill Manders Show. Opposite him, our other senator (R) John Ensign had the other portion of the show. I've got to say...I've said openly that John Ensign seems to me to be a bit of a RINO. He was the ONLY Nevada official in Washington to vote FOR the stimulus bill. His voting record is a bit less of RIGHT than I would like, but on this program...he sure seems now to be towing a different line? He's CERTAINLY better than our Democratic representatives, but "I dunno yet" as they say... Ensign too, is from the Liberal South Nevada, from Vegas...so I'm not sure about him yet. He seems to be getting on board... possibly it took WE THE PEOPLE to show him a better route. I wish better days for him, and hope he finally grows the cajones to stand with HIS PEOPLE ;) Today, he did speak with reason and Conservative tone.

Former State Senator - Colonel & Dr. Joe Heck who has announced his run for Governor was present. He is a graduate of some impressive Military Stragetic training, was an Army Corp doctor, and was a Colonel. I don't have an opinion on him yet...he's from Clark County (Las Vegas...HUGELY LIBERAL), so I've read some negative typical liberal dribble on him...but haven't studied him enough yet to form a real educated opinion. He seems really down to earth though, seems fiscally conservative, and so far so good. He was supposed to have spoken at my last NvFRW board meeting, his wife came instead...he was called away on some military business of some sort...I admired that. She was engaging and who knows, Joe Heck just might have a shot...we'll see as time plays out. AT LEAST TODAY...he cared enough about the OTHER Congressional district in the North to SHOW UP :)

By the way for you that are outside Nevada...Las Vegas comprises TWO (2) Congressional districts. THE ENTIRE REST OF THE STATE is the "other" district. Look at a freaking MAP! Nevada is one of the largest states in the Union...ONE CITY (+ SURBURBS) comprise TWO districts...the ENTIRE state is left as the other district, and we are HUGELY CONSERVATIVE in the "rest" of Nevada :) That includes my city of Reno...in my county...about 500,000 residents! There's still Carson City, the capitol, and all of the rural areas...comprising Ely, Elko, Winnemucca, Fallon, Fernley, Gardnerville, Minden, Yerington, etc.

A fair note here: North Las Vegas mayor Mike Montandon also spoke to us at our board meeting, and is also running as a Republican gubentorial candidate. He was impressive as well, has great points, and seemed to be a qualified candidate too. I don't want to see TOO MANY good Republicans put their name in the bucket...because RORY REID...YEP...THE SON OF BIG STINKY PINKY HARRY REID has announced his run on the Democratic side for Governor. WE CANNOT ALLOW ANOTHER REID INTO ANY OFFICE!!!!...NOT EVEN DOG CATCHER!!!

All in all, IT WAS A GREAT DAY for Nevadans. It is a shame that in the "rural...more 'redneck' part of Nevada"...which means outside Las Vegas...THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE turned out in their particular towns and cities for Tea Parties. The area of Nevada (2 Congressional districts) (where Harry Reid hails from) mustered an estimated 500 people for their rally :(

NEVADA WILL NEED THE HELP OF THE REST OF THE NATION TO OFF HARRY REID IN 2010! He will have MILLIONS in campaign donations by the time of the election. If you've ever considered donating money to a campaign outside your own state...PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING to whichever Conservative candidate Nevada puts forth in 2010.

Michael Steele's Lame Survey

I got an e-mail tonight from Michael Steele. "He" told me he was "so very interested" in my opinions about where the Republican party needed to go.

The questions were obviously canned...stupid lame questions...(if you are a Conservative). True Conservatives ALREADY believe EVERY thing in the questions. The only people that wouldn't score 100% on this test would be liberals...so WHY bother us with the survey? Oh yeah...there was a plea to donate MORE MONEY at the end.

I just cannot be a lady anymore and maintain my composure with these RINO moonbats! My own party was ALL JAZZED that Michael Steele won as the new RNC chairman. Sorry...so far...he LOST me at hello...and he hasn't done a THING to really impress me yet. At least he DID have the grace to leave a comment section (in the middle) of the survey. Go figure...I just couldn't help myself...I told him what I think!

Folks...this nation isn't all that far away from another Civil War! Conservatives are PISSED! We aren't going to stand for a leader that cannot lead. Lead, Follow, or GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY!

The "DIS-honorable" Stinky Pinky Harry Reid has already done ENOUGH to screw the nation...and if the bail-outs to the tune of TRILLIONS weren't enough, he only managed to get a mere 1.5 Billion in bail out stimulus dollars for HIS home state of Nevada...most of which were projects and funding for bullshit items. He's a one man demolition crew for the demise of the Yucca Mountain Nuclear project that could raise billions for our state, and he is a socialist encouraging Barack Obama at every turn to wallow all Americans into decades of debt. This man is the scurge of Nevada and your Washington DC.

R.J. Lloyd Rest In Peace

I've been pondering the news today that Uncle RJ passed, and as I was checking my e-mail...my dear niece Rhonda actually had already done a post :)

YES...Uncle RJ at 92 was a great man. So great, that tears don't come as heaven will be such a greater place with him there! This was a man so impressive to me as a child, and so impressive to generations to come as I grew older and had children of my own and watched many generations pass through his life...all I could ever do in his honor would be not to cry...but celebrate the amazing life this man lived!

R.J. Lloyd was named that by his parents. Many years ago when joining the service he was asked to give a name to those initials...he said there wasn't any...but the military insisted...so Robert James it was, and he said it on the spot. RJ served during the Normandy tour! (amongst others), but he saw great combat and great loss of life. He had many stories and articles and even a box of photos that I'm sure the likes of Time magazine or Life, or any other publication would have loved to get their hands on...he wouldn't have it. He quietly called it his horror box, he would NEVER show me, and I was VERY close to him for years. I know the box saw the light of day...but ONLY at private Veterans memorials or reunions and I'm not sure even his wife knew everything that was in that box of horror.

My Uncle RJ was FUNNY! He had a sense of humor that would leave you just wishing you lived with him just to have one more day to hear his laugh and his take on life. He was a very reasonable man, an honest man, and a MAN that every woman alive would love to have for their own. He loved his wife Mary with the kind of love that is only heard of in fairy tales. He loved her, respected her, worshiped her, and cared for her in a way no person I know personally has ever experienced :) In the dictionary next to love and romance would be his photo :)

I never knew a bigger man. He was not great in stature, but his persona and his beliefs, and the way he LIVED what he believed made him the tallest and largest man alive :) He was so kind. He loved this nation and LOVED to have served as a soldier and he served when being a soldier was a split second any moment away from life or death. He survived and no one knows how. He wouldn't tell us, but most of his compatriots around him met horrible deaths fighting for our country's freedom! His life after service was a miracle, and he lived each day of his life thereafter in miraculous form.

Karma is a strange thing. I on rare occasion would send a card or letter to him back home. And just last night...I'm not sure if I was thinking of him on my way to sleep or I just dreamed of him...but just this morning...I checked my address book and jotted myself a note to send him a card or a letter and just let him know I was thinking of him. I've been gone from home since 1986. I got the call today while out to lunch that he had passed. He came and said a mental hello to me on his way out, and I'm celebrating his dinner tonight with Jesus :)

Uncle RJ used to sit with me in the yard for hours and we would shell black-eyed peas and ponder the world's problems, and he was always funny and always had good answers. He was kind to my kids, and loved both my husbands through the years with grace and humor. I never knew anyone that didn't hold RJ in high regard, especially his wife Aunt Mary.

Tonight...if you hear a little raucus outside in the skies...it's a PARTY :) Uncle RJ and Aunt Mary have re-united in heaven, and life is good for the both of them. RIP to the best Great Uncle a gal could ever have. Thanks for your service to this nation, and thanks for the memories and the greatest inspiration on many levels he gave me as a young girl that I was able to carry into adulthood even to my current age of 46 ;)

It's a rare person that has so much influence on your life...you need not have seen them in years but yet still carry them with you daily :) I was a lucky person to have known RJ Lloyd, and even luckier to have been related to him :)

Nevada Taxation Committee Meets TOMORROW!

It's no secret that we're sadly DOWN in our budgets for the upcoming year. HOWEVER, we CAN cut where needed and still fund many other needed functions of our county or State government. Folks NEED to remind themselves of the VAST distinction of what's WANTED versus WHAT'S NEEDED!

Our legislature in Carson City is now a majority of Liberal and spend freak individuals. Marilyn Kirkpatrick is one that allegedly mentioned that on March 5th, Washoe County MUST be represented at the table as (paraphrased) "we're coming after it". When asked just "what" they're coming after regarding higher taxes and spending...in open session in Carson City...she said..."all of it".

Our State, like our nation is NOT being represented in the best interest of WE THE PEOPLE! Allegedly, Peggy Pierce ALSO a Lib from Vegas (I can't find the alleged Sam Shad Show interview video to prove it) and also testifying before the taxation committee said that hundreds of her constituents have moved here from California and just haven't gotten the level of services they expected from the State of Nevada and NOW "THEY" are ready for tax increases!

Just me, little 'ole Conservative talking here...but how many of those "said constituents" do you think are actually the ONES PAYING into the tax bracket that are providing "said services". I moved here from Texas in 1986 off a cotton farm and with little more than minimum wage to get me here with no help! I moved away in '92 and back again in 1996 ;) I can't say ENOUGH GOOD about Nevada and how the State has performed for me!

I AM a constituent! I AM NOT ready for tax INCREASES for ANY service the State of Nevada provided me! I appreciated the discounted vaccination fees I found on 9th street for my children that ANYONE can get, and I'm appreciative of how as a single mother struggling in 1986 my Nevada "services" told me as a casino dealer "I didn't make LITTLE ENOUGH money at minimum wage + tips to GET any help"...and quite frankly when I was down on my luck I'm VERY HAPPY (truthfully) that all this "supposed" "service" from my state DIDN'T exist when I desperately needed it.

I'm now a proud Nevada business owner and employ 22 people of which 2 include myself and my husband. I'M PROUD THAT WHEN I HAD NO PLACE TO TURN... AND NO HELP WAS GIVEN...MY NEVADA STATE SERVICES TAUGHT ME HOW TO MAKE IT ON MY OWN! They wanted me to FAIL in order to DESERVE any help. Well...they gave me none and guess what? I beat their mentality and I SUCCEEDED! Screw ANYBODY that tells you they haven't "found in Nevada" the "services" they were expecting from some other state!

I've never received ANY service from ANY state, and I've lived on little or less more than one time in my life since I've been an adult. BUT the times in my life that I literally COULD NOT get to the next day...my community and my "stranger" friends DID HELP me. Communities will ALWAYS help those that cannot. Taxes will not change that.

We in Nevada need to ELIMINATE excessive governmental intervention into matters that would better be served by our VOLUNTEERISM, our faith based or intellectual based folks & citizens that would take up many of our services in a second! IF we leave the government and our general funds OUT of the equation...we'll find MORE help and BETTER control than we would or should expecting the legislature to MANDATE it!

Possible library closures or cut hours are an example. VOLUNTEERS will keep the library's open. Planned Parenthood is another good Nevada example. Since suggesting that governmental general funds shouldn't be a focus there...guess what? Over 3 million of that expense has been taken on by folks that just had Planned Parenthood as "their particular cause". Folks will FUND services...everybody's got their thing...be it the homeless, the down trodden, or WHATEVER, we donate and fund what whatever some folks care about! The government doesn't need to! FOLKS - CITIZENS - COMMUNITIES - IDEALISTS - we all have a dollar or two...WE THE PEOPLE can manage our own STATES! Government just needs to GET OUT OF THE WAY!

WRITE ALL OFFICIALS in Nevada NOW about the meeting tomorrow! Many will vote for no increases...but send the SAME MESSAGE TO ALL! Here's HOW :)

Nevada Sales & Use Tax Punished ME

I'm truly offended as a small business owner and regular taxpayer of Nevada. I feel like someone said to me, "Malinda...you're a good girl. Now GO STAND IN THE CORNER WITH YOUR NOSE IN A CIRCLE UNTIL JUNE! You're grounded until June 30th young lady! Thank you for being a good girl."

For those businesses that pay their Sales Tax bill early or on time...we've always been given a little smidgen back as a discount or tax cut. On average, it would give back about a $30.00 rebate on a $6000.00 bill. On the other hand...if you're EVEN ONE DAY late...the penalty is about $120.00. Now...I agree that penalties should be stiff for late payers, I've been OK with that standard we have...just thankful for ANY tax cut :)

The following was in my Sales & Use Tax bill for last month.

"IMPORTANT NOTICE: The State of Nevada has enacted temporary legislation intended to address the current budget issues for the remainder of FY 2009. These measures include a reduction in the Collection Allowance authorized for taxpayers who collect and remit certain taxes in a timely manner. Taxes affected are Sales Tax, Liquor Excise Tax for Sales to Consumers, Liquor Excise Tax, Other Tobacco Products Tax and Cigarette Tax. The collection allowance for these tax types will be reduced from .5% to .25% for the period beginning on January 1, 2009 , and for the period ending on June 30, 2009."

Another prime example of punishing the good and rewarding the bad. WHY did they cut my praise for paying on time in half...but didn't increase the penalties for those who don't pay in time or at all? I just don't understand the logic of the government!

As much as we all know President Obama is a brilliant man and a great speaker...I never got a "tingle" up my leg as some did when he spoke. That is because I listened to WHAT he was saying.

I by accident caught Rush Limbaugh's keynote address to the CPAC conference today, and I must admit...my leg did tingle.

As a true Conservative I believe with my life that all of you are free to believe what you want and to side with who you wish. As for me...I WAS INSPIRED!

I was reminded that I have a great life! I was reminded that in all my bitching and complaining sometimes over anything that has happened over the last 30 years...I have it good, and I really DO have good people around me :) In my political activism I sometimes get down because I think I have no voice...I DO...WE DO...not everything happens in a day...but right always wins.

If you watched that speech or listened to it in its intirety, and then you cannot understand that Conservatism is the backbone of the USA and all of what the founding fathers intended for us... then I'm sorry... We'll never tell you "I told you so"...for we won't have to. When we no longer have anything to give to you...and you cannot believe there is no more...as you sat idly by believing with all your heart that someone somewhere was going to come and save you...then you may sit idly by with all of us when there might be no more hope or change.

As for me...I'm going to pick up my bitching butt and go forward. I'm going to remind myself of my own favorite quote that was given to me by the ex-producer of the late great Credence Clearwater Revival band when I dealt cards to him one night across a blackjack table in Reno, and he was of age 80 something.

Grass isn't greener on the other side of the fence. It's greenest where it's watered. Stay home and water your grass :) I intend to water my grass and be thankful I have a large yard to water :) Nothing is perfect but some things are damn close, and I choose what's been damn close for over a decade at least in my life, or even longer :) I apologize to myself for ever thinking on a whim or a drink that anything would be any different :) I apologize to myself that it took me this long to give up the past, and know...that it's only right now and what we can believe that matters sometimes. Conservitism IS NOT DEAD...our mistakes die, our idioscryncies may last moments, but our core values and our core people last through anything. I'm gonna go hug mine, my kids, my companies, and my beliefs, and my husband...I'm going to LIVE my life and be HAPPY that I have a good one :)

Rush...thanks for inspiring me again to be steadfast and accomplished :) Thanks for inspiring me to realize what I have and NEVER BITCH about what I don't have...for it's ONLY MY choices and MY ACTIONS that determine such.

Lt. Governor Brian Krolicki Speaks - Catherine Cortez Masto Indicts

I attended the Mt. Rose Republican's Women dinner tonight featuring guest speaker Lt. Governor Brian Krolicki. Brian has served our state well and with distinction in varied positions throughout his career.

After a humorous thanks to us all (70 attending) for giving up the opportunity to stay home and watch President Obama speak to the nation on television tonight (which I've since seen and viewed it just as it was, a huge PR presentation), he proved to be an entertaining and informative speaker. His explanations of the workings of our Nevada legislature and current and future business, his enthusiastic attitude of how our efforts and involvement as Nevada Republicans can and hopefully will turn the tides in current government, and his forthright and candid explanations of his current legal battles made for an interesting and positive evening.

It's no secret that most of the USA wants to see Harry Reid GONE in 2010. WE NEVADANS NEED THE NATION'S HELP TO ACCOMPLISH THIS! I'm new to politics and activism, but I'm slowly learning that what I know and thought about being a politician is sadly spun by many. I'm begining to think that being a politician (at least a good one or trying to be) is like being a soldier in our current wars. You just never know around which corner a bomb will blow or which guy in a little differently colored suit might shoot you in the head. And on top of that in a country currently facing great political turmoil...if you are that soldier or politician, even your boss or chief that you MUST take orders from...or whom might condone your actions might also be a wolf in sheep's clothing...so now...who do you trust?

I found Brian Krolicki to be a very genuine person. I know when he was Treasurer and in charge of the Nevada college fund it benefited many, many students. I also know he's a Republican leader in a state we sadly call "purple" now as we used to be hugely RED meaning Republican, and now the Blue Democrats are taking over...but the "other" major city Reno remains mostly Red and all the rural areas are Red...but then...there's Clark County...Las Vegas. As wonderful as Vegas is, the populus and mentality has sadly changed the Wild Wild West of Nevada. Most of the money is there, a lot of the greed and crookedness is there, and we all know Harry Reid is there puking his sad blatent far left liberalism onto each citizen there.

Just after Nevada's Lt. Governor Brian Krolicki announced his possible run against Harry Reid for the senate position in 2010...magically news broke that he had been indicited on charges of mishandling funds in the college fund back when he was State Treasurer. GEE... one would THINK that whoever was writing and/or signing the checks at that time should have raised a flag if inappropriate things were going on? Call me crazy...but if I was a bookkeeper, contracted administrating company, coffee maker chick in the breakroom making copies & hearing gossip, or even just a caring nobody blogger like myself...I would have called bullshit if bullshit was happening way back THEN!

I believe Krolicki's greatest ally (from a litigation position) and proper defense is the very woman who indicted him and swears that Harry Reid played no part in the decision. Catherine Cortez Masto, the state's Attorney General was officially responsible for his indictment, WAS OFFICIALLY HIS BOSS and signed off on contractual obligations he's accused of frauding, when she herself has been audited before, and accused before for the same kind of thing...but OH...her story was explained away, and Krolicki's explanations aren't good enough? An official audit has been published, only time will tell if what's written there is true or not. Somehow Cortez Masto Democrat Attorney General's story got lost and folded into the garbage :) How can you be somebody's boss and indict them later for something you signed off on? Beats me?

But NOW that time has gone by, and now Brian Krolicki is no longer a "measly" Treasurer but #2 in the state as Lieutenant Governor and MIGHT run against Harry Reid...he's now a blatent criminal based on (as far as I can see) very technical alleged contractual formalities, possible bookkeeping errors, lots of crazy impossible to decipher yet seemingly normal expenditures from a business standpoint, possible losses to a fund through investments in a down turning economy that nobody could help and he didn't necessarily participate in, bunch of legal mumbo jumbo that makes him all of a sudden seem like the Charles Manson of Nevada politics!

And...those "in the know"...most Democrats, and some respected Republicans might say there's some fire coming from the smoke. I don't know...I think sometimes the more I get involved in true politics around here that a lot of folks are smoking something :) That's my evil twin just calling a duck a duck. Much ado about nothing I say...but they say it's to the tune of several million dollars. Indicted Krolicki is...as time goes by...we'll see what the courts say. I say it's a waste of a LOT of money (even mine that I donated to his defense fund) to even have to argue crap like this when there are so many bigger fish to fry...Harry Reid being the biggest fish in the lake!

I also know as a small business owner that I have no control over my 22 employees 24/7. We try hard as we may to always have a great business. Honesty and integrety are our main principles. Once in a great while, an employee doesn't repair a vehicle just right...and a customer has to come back. We fix it again and at no charge to the customer. BUT...I would really hate for the world or the community to think that just because we as owners are technically and literally in control...that WE SUCK as people, or that our businesses are unviable or damned because something small went bad on rare occasion. We can't control everything all the time. That's why we have 22 employees...if we could do it all...we'd have 2...my husband & myself. When you consider government even on a state level...GEEZZEES...that's a lot of people to control or oversee when your title governs the nameplate on an entire division! Humans are humans...no one person can control everything perfectly ALL the time.

I say just ask Obama...hell...what's a few million in one's opinion compared to the blatent TRILLION Obama wants us all to swallow like jello, strawberries, or chocolate ice cream? What our democrats have done to this country is unfathomable, and yet we watch our populus praise denegration, blatent in our faces mis-management, and certain criminality against our very purses and wallets and call it change. The constitution anymore is but a comic strip in the eyes of the far left. In the meantime, we go out and indict and try to convict really decent people for basically farting in the wind and hope to land said people 30 years in prison.

As I said...I'm new to all of this. Brian Krolicki will have his day in court. He swears he's innocent and that his trial/judgment will prove that. However...one of the most likely people to have been able to unseat the Stinky Pinky Harry Reid has now been devalued, and most likely cannot be our candidate for his senate seat because of Democratic partisan condemnation. It's hard to win with a felonous indictment on your record for supposed monetary discretions, but then again...a president that places a cigar into a woman that is not his wife, has a verified DNA sample on said woman's dress and claims he had no sex with that woman is a hero. Go figure American politics and the sound judgment of its citizens!

I guess sadly it's truly become to be that who you screw is more important than who you try to help or protect. And with others having evidence of said screwing...once you've been screwed you just don't matter anymore. Brian...at least your moniker or nick-name by the left is Weaselman... (in which each instance I found for the Weasel was a copied & pasted version of left wingers spinning the same old gossip and not much original content beyond original Weasel verbage) somehow I think I'd rather be a weasel than a Stinky Pinky from Searchlight :)

Good luck Brian...I'm pulling for you. I don't see true evidence that you intentionally defrauded Nevada citizens, I think you are genuine. I hope I don't get proved wrong. May the justice system work in your favor if you are clean, if you are not...sorry a nice guy got busted. May the karma due the Democratic Left Wing Moonbat club come to haunt them and give payback VERY SOON for our nation can't stand much more lunacy ;)

If it's proved that you did participate in mis-conduct, and proven beyond any reasonable doubt, I'll be the first one dissappointed and I'll come back here and climb on my Blah Blah Soap Box and tear you a new one :) For now...I say INNOCENT until trial date. That's why I donated to your legal defense fund :)

School Choice: Less Money, Better Results

A little-noticed report in the February 7th edition of the Wall Street Journal makes an excellent case for my proposed Excellence in Education and Increased Opportunities (EIEIO) bill to provide Nevada families with the financial means to exercise school choice through new education tax rebates. Take a look:

“To understand the problem with the stimulus bill, it helps to focus on specific parts. Take the $142 billion for schools, which is nearly double the total outlays of the Department of Education in 2007. Now consider that much of this cash would go to public-school systems that don't even need the money for its earmarked purposes. The Milwaukee Public School system, for example, would receive $88.6 million over two years for new construction projects under the House version of the stimulus -- even though the district currently has 15 vacant school buildings and declining enrollment.”

Now, the interesting part of this isn’t so much the fact that the president’s spending bill is larded up with pork and is earmarked to build schools Milwaukee doesn’t even need. The really interesting part of this report is the reason the Milwaukee school system “currently has 15 vacant buildings and declining enrollment.” As the WSJ explains…

“The city is home to the country's oldest and largest school voucher program, which provides public funds for children to attend private schools. Families who participate in the means-tested voucher program receive $6,700 per pupil, while the city spends more than $13,000 per student. In addition to saving the taxpayers money, voucher students graduate at higher rates and outscore their counterparts on reading and math exams, which is one reason waiting lists for the program are common.”

Building new brick-and-mortar schools is extremely expensive these days, especially when construction contractors are forced to use union-only labor and pay inflated union wages. So the EIEIO universal school choice program - which would immediately alleviate Nevada’s need to build so many new schools during this current recession, as well as immediately reduce class sizes in existing schools - should be quickly approved and enacted by the Nevada Legislature.

Unlike the Milwaukee program, however, EIEIO wouldn’t limit school choice to only low-income families. As long as the government makes education compulsory, then school choice options and funding should be available to all of Nevada’s families, regardless of income.

Of course, the teachers union will dispute whether or not students attending private and parochial schools are out-scoring their government-school counterparts, but those arguments are irrelevant. It’s not whether or not one group is performing better than the other; it’s whether parents or school bureaucrats get to make the decision on which school children attend.

This is as much an issue of parental rights as it is education.

EIEIO tax rebates would provide all of Nevada’s families with the means to exercise their right to select the school they believe is best for their children. They will also reduce the amount of money Nevada’s taxpayers need to spend on building new schools, reduce the amount of money Nevada taxpayers need to spend on education overall, reduce class sizes in existing public schools, and result in improved academic performance in all of Nevada’s schools by instilling a level of competition in what is now a virtual government monopoly over education.

Who could possibly be opposed to that?.

Texas Roadhouse - Reno

It's no secret I'm proud to have been raised a Texan :) I don't get the opportunity often to feel Texas here in Nevada even though Nevada is much like my great home State of Texas :) At the Texas Roadhouse, they fly proudly the American Flag...but the Great Lone Star Flag flies proudly atop the restaurant too :) (See video below!)

We ate at the Texas Roadhouse today for lunch in the Damonte Ranch area. It's been around a little while, but is fairly new to this area. I thought it was awesome, the food was good, and the service was impeccable! All of the staff were hospitable, informative, and gracious. Jackie & Beto our servers were OUTSTANDING! Give 'em a raise guys :)

If any of you have ever eaten at a Logan's Roadhouse...Texas Roadhouse seemed to be it's clone although no one we asked had ever heard of Logan's :) I have to give credit where credit is due, and I think Logan's both in Redding, CA, and in Midland/Odessa TX have just a slight hand up on food...I still give our local Texas Roadhouse a thumbs up :)

The "blooming onion" was great (make sure you order the small one:). Hubby had a Steakhouse Burger and he loved it. The bread (rolls) that they bake every 5 minutes was outstanding...but Logan's famous rolls have 'em beat by a tad :) The bread though was HOT and the butter with a hint of sugar and cinnamon was grand. It's RARE in Reno to get really HOT bread :)

I had the "Road Kill" which was a sirloin burger grilled with sauteed onions & mushrooms, and I picked green beans & sweet potato for sides...both awesome. It was really good, I'd have it again in a minute...but locally...that same grilled sirloin dish at either of the Moxie's restaurants does a little better :)

We'll be returning guests for sure at Texas Roadhouse. The ambiance was fun, lively, and the food really was very good. It's a great place to take guests or business clients, and despite the fact that I mentioned other venues that I thought were better...I want to take no fate away from Texas Roadhouse. I enjoyed my time there and we will be repeat guests for SURE!

You HAVE to check out this few second video! I was SO HAPPY to see a flying Texas flag...I had to take video :) The wind was blowing SO HARD today I could barely stand to take the video :) It appears there is a "roller coaster" type scream at the end of the video...but it's NOT! That was literally a "wind scream" in my Canon G7 camera on video mode :)

SB116 Seat Belt Law Passes Committee

I know seat belts are good for us, I wear one. However...it isn't now, nor has it ever been the government's job to protect us from ourselves. If we aren't big enough to do that on our own, we are not responsible enough to vote.

I need to know that I have legitimately done something wrong before I have to worry about police intervention. Making the "suspicion" that one is or is not wearing a seat belt probable cause for said intervention...I have an issue with. Even in a down economy...the city can do better than this for an excuse to raise money through increased ticket issuance. There are bigger fish to fry and money well spent elsewhere.

SB116 is proposed Nevada legislature for making the lack of wearing a seat belt a "primary offense" which means a police officer can pull you over anytime and anywhere for the suspicion that you might not be wearing the belt. A ticket I can live with, probable cause to stop on suspicion that I might get a ticket...I don't think so.

Report on Hearing and Vote: Thursday, February 19, 8am

The Senate Energy, Infrastructure and Transportation, voted at 10:30 this morning 4 in favor 2 opposed to SB116. Schneider, Nolan (the sponsor), Breeden and Townsend voted in favor with Cegavske and Carlton voting no. John Lee was absent. Please thank Senators Cegavske and Carlton for voting NO. With passage from the Senate Committee it will now go to a vote of the whole Senate. In 2007, this bill was defeated in the Assembly, so our next big push will be in the Assembly Committee.

The room was full of “public safety” and medical people, cops, and other bureaucrats testifying in Carson and Las Vegas via videoconference. The bottom line is money. If this law passes the state can apply for grants. Nevadans already comply with 92.2% which is up from 91% 2 years ago--higher than some states that have primary seat belt laws. The education campaign “Click it or Ticket” is credited to the increase. Education works better than compulsory laws!

This is a freedom issue. It would allow the police to stop you at anytime for any reason, when you are doing nothing wrong. Testimony presented by Chad Dornsife of the National Motorists Association http://www.motorists.org/ spoke about how in North Carolina the Primary Seat belt law had been use as an excuse for road blocks by police who then proceeded to “check” everything else. They said the road blocks were successful because they were able to pick people up for so many other infractions.

Joining Eagle Forum and the Independent American Party in testimony against the bill were the public defenders from Washoe and Clark and the ACLU. What good company! They are concerned about racial profiling, liberty and privacy. We are concerned about “bumper sticker” profiling as well.

SB116 makes not wearing a seat belt a primary offense, which means the police can stop you at any time for any reason to see if you are wearing your seat belt. The current law prohibits the issuance of a citation for failure to wear a safety belt unless the vehicle is stopped or the person is arrested for another offense. By removing this provision, this bill allows the issuance of a citation for not wearing a seat belt even if there is no other violation. We are moving towards a police state.

Ken Dalton Retires From Coaching

I'd like to tip my "helmet" to our local Reno icon Coach Ken Dalton and wish him a grand farewell as he steps down as the head coach for McQueen High School in Reno, NV.

Ken Dalton has touched and changed thousands of lives over his 40 year coaching career. He is the most winning high school coach in Nevada, and has coached the McQueen High School Lancers for the entire 27 years they've been in existence. He has over 300 wins under his belt and 6 State Championships. I had predicted after his next championship win, he might retire. The Lancers won the State Championship this past season by one point, and it seems my prediction was true.

Chris Carr was but a mere pup when Coach Dalton gave him the Lancer Pride. He went on to play for the Oakland Raiders, and this past year played for the Tennessee Titans. When he signed on to play pro during his draft year...Ken Dalton was one of the first phone calls he made.

My son Quaid had the privilege to play for Dalton on both sides of the ball for four years. I thank Coach Dalton for the influence, discipline, and skill he brought to my son's life not only as an athlete, but also as a man. The sidelines at Lancer Field will never be the same again Daddy D :) Thanks for the memories.

What If ? The Liberals Ask Me

I've been asked a lot lately by those who still adore Obama and the "Change" machine..."So, what do you think would be different now, or what do you think would be happening right now if John McCain would have been elected? Do you really think "it" would be any different?" So many in fact have asked, I felt compelled to answer back something at least.

I've never said I thought John McCain would have made a great president. I openly stated all through the election that it was a hold your nose and vote year. I openly stated my opinion that I didn't vote for John McCain strictly to uphold my "sacred position" as a Republican, but more so because ANYONE almost would have been better than Barack Hussein Obama.

First off, I'd like to say to my liberal friends, relatives, or acquaintances that ask...if you are even inclined to ASK me the what if question...doubt is already seeding itself within you. If your Obama was so great and good, and the change you are seeing is what you thought you were going to get by casting that vote...then you would certainly have the last laugh and you would NOT be asking what if?...you would be saying I TOLD YOU SO :) That's not happening amongst any liberals I see daily.

Honestly, we'll never know the true answer to what if McCain/Palin would have won...they didn't. My answer to what if really can't be placed upon the shoulders of McCain, I didn't have a lot of faith in him either...especially with Pelosi & Reid in tow leading a highly liberal Congress, and McCain showing signs of RINO virus from time to time. Oh, he sings a blingy tune NOW, but prior to election...he was a little too willing to go along to get along if you ask me.

My answer to WHAT IF lies within all of us. It's an easy answer...it's an answer that bears no light on any party lines, titles, factions, race, creed, or affiliations. It only speaks to one simple philosophy, and that is common sense mixed with the basic first grade math. Two plus two will always equal four, and if it's hot...don't touch it.

I'm really sick and tired of everybody playing the blame game. I'm so tired of the media being so high on sensationalism, ratings, and dumb logic that I have to restrain myself on a daily basis from throwing a brick through my 50" 1080I HD widescreen television I worked so hard to finally afford! I'm sick and tired of not seeing color in normal and responsible individuals only to have the media or some whacked out liberal throw race in my face everytime somebody speaks an opinion not favorable to anybody who whines down and out while those same people are exhuming exhorbatant amounts of energy to NOT handle business, morals, or life in general in their own lives so that they may continue to take my money and yours to remain dependant on the government or community programs and not have to just live responsibally! When I slam, dis, talk shit about, or otherwise demean some lazy individual that lives in the slums, barios, or other impoverished neighborhoods...I'm sick and tired of the media and liberal moonbats assuming I'm speaking of or look down upon black, hispanic, blue, purple, or any other race! There's as much white trash living like this as there are people of "color". RESPONSIBLE, HARD WORKING, MORAL INDIVIDUALS HAVE NO COLOR...GET IT FOLKS?

Here's the answer to ALL this mess plain and simple. It's easy folks. Shut up, read three documents, LIVE AND DIE by those three documents, speak English, and learn some simple grade school math. NO is a simple word, only two letters, and EVERYONE needs to learn it, embrace it, live it, and accept it without question...all the way from the highest top to the lowest bottom. No means no. DONE...life is good, we all prosper, and America once again becomes the greatest nation on earth in the eyes of the globe. We already know it is...but we're giving it away, throwing it away, and wallowing in unnecessary misery.

Shut Up: The media should just report news, plain & simple. Truth is news, speculation and/or opinion is not news. For every bad thing they have to report, they should also find good things to report. True news is not up for discussion, deliberation, supposition, or judgment. State the facts good bad or indifferent and move on.

Three Documents: The Ten Commandments - whether you are a Christian, Jew, Muslim, Catholic, Buddhist, Athiest, or Agnostic...it's a good document. Pretend those 10 rules had nothing to do with religion...they actually don't...except it's tied to Jesus bringing it down from a mountain on a tablet. They are good rules, follow them. The United States Constitution - It's a great document and should be left alone - it's not up for debate - amendments do come on rare occasion, but it shouldn't be considered a living document up to the whims of flowing tides or fad phases. The Bill of Rights - this document covers everybody no matter their origination, it stands good as it is if followed.

Live & Die: If Americans of all walks of life and all races knew as much about these three documents and cared as much about them as they do the trivial things in life like Survivor, Desperate Housewives, local gossip, their so called entitlements and what's "due them" for breathing, or spending their last dime on what they want instead of what they need...Americans would learn to LIVE and would enjoy life to its fullest. If Americans were willing to DIE to abide by and preserve every word of the three documents instead of being willing to DIE because they are in a gang and someone in the neighborhood wore the wrong color shirt...or willing to DIE before they would take something they hadn't earned then we'd have no bad economy or failing systems. The liberal mentality is a lazy mentality. Only truly afflicted or elderly people should be taken care of and have our wealth on any scale redistributed to them. Those not willing to learn, work, climb, and try should get no hand outs. What you can earn, what you can achieve is measured by what you are willing to do...period.

Speak English: No matter where you came from, or where you might go...SPEAK ENGLISH! If you can speak another language at home GREAT! The more languages you know the more doors are open to you and the smarter you are. But, in America...speak ENGLISH. If you came here from somewhere else...welcome friends...sign in, take the test, become a citizen or at least have the proper credentials to be here, i.e. green card, visa, or diplomatic legality...period...no exceptions! Oh yeah...that is a law isn't it...that one doesn't get inforced though...jay-walking on the other hand will land you a hefty ticket on a busy street in a second.

Grade School Math: 2+2=4. If you don't have it in your pocket, or in your bank account you can't spend it. If you are given credit and you don't pay the payments...you lose it and don't get to borrow anymore. No pay - No Have. No Work - No Pay. No Save - No Security - No Future. It's your choice.

No MEANS NO!: Don't be behind on bills but have enough money to be seen at the local restaurant eating out or at the bar spending $5 per beer. Lenders & Credit institutions should play by the same rules. Don't give money to people that won't give it back to you. IF you do...YOU eat the loss! Not my fault you made a bad business decision. Do it enough times...guess what...out of business plain & simple. Losers must be allowed to lose. There's no shame in having less than the guy next to you. Have what you can afford and be happy with it. If you are a bad business man and can't manage your business, or there wasn't enough business to keep it going...close the doors and hold your head high. Losing is what leads people to win, they have something then to compare it to. This notion that EVERYBODY is entitled to the same things is hogwash! YOU are only entitled to what YOU make for yourself. We all start with nothing...even the rich you think inherited their wealth. At some point, we all have nothing until either someone leaves it to us, gives it to us, or we earn it. You'll be best served to consentrate on the latter :) Folks that get it given to them should get it from someone who made the choice to do so. Government shouldn't be giving anyone anything...it's we the people that give of ourselves to the government...so we the people should be the only ones able to tell them how to spend it! People should give, communities should give, and all of free will and choice. The government should govern not give.

Our founding fathers set government up to have a mere three purposes. Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. The executive should execute and oversee the other two branches and govern the military. Legislative was designed to make few laws to keep a large nation basically on the same page. It was NEVER designed to control the people, protect the people from themselves, nor have say on the way we live our lives, or spend our money. The judicial is in place to make sure the laws are followed, not to decide loopholes on how we can manipulate the law.

Free market principles in business and life are all that will work. If the government would leave it all alone...the markets will correct themselves after the failing and criminal fall by the wayside. It's government intervention and regulation that caused the mess and they want us to believe they are the only ones that can fix it. As an individual when you do business with someone or become friends with someone and they screw you over...you never do business or associate with that person or business again. After a business screws enough people over, they either have to close due to lack of business or they correct their ways and build again. Bad friends either apologize and repent, or they lose friends and end up all alone. Either way, life goes on and good wins over evil. When that natural process is prevented from occuring, good and evil end up in a whirlwind and circular pattern that never gets better, but downward spirals like water going down a drain.

Common sense people...that's all we need. The majority of you voted for Barack Obama. You loved him so much, you think his Socialist mentality will save you. Good luck with that, and thanks for screwing the rest of us over that have been carrying all of you for years...protecting YOUR rights...fighting for YOU to have the ability to be whatever you wanted to be.

Conservative people get a bad rap because we demand the same from everyone. We fight for you to be FREE to do whatever you want to do...or not do. BUT...if you choose the NOT side...we don't judge you...we just refuse to carry you and pay your way! THAT'S why common sense and conservative values are bombarded in the media and within liberal circles. Conservatism demands effort, self discipline, morality, responsibility, and repercussions.

It's that little repercussion part the liberals aren't willing to buy into. When you remove repercussion, then control and dependence becomes easy for your liberal wealthy narcissist power mongers to achieve. The liberals always claim to be on the side of the poor and downtrodden. They elect liberal officials because those officials promised them change and a better way. Yet...with EVERY LIBERAL official without fail...the poor remain poor and nothing changed. But, the words were pretty and you at least conned yourselves into thinking they tried.

WHAT IF YOU TRY? What if YOU quit listening to the crap and quit drinking the Kool-Aid of liberalism and socialism? What if all of you hold your government accountable for the lies they tell you. READ the bills in congress! Go online and STUDY what is actually going on. It's all right there for you to read...they don't even HIDE the blatent butt screwing they are giving you. But they make nice speeches on TV about change and crisis and doom and gloom and horror. They tell you on TV that without them...you will die on the vine.

You're not dead until the dirt or the fire of the oven hits your cold stiff carcass! There's no doom and gloom. Because THEY preach it to you and YOU believe it...then it's so...and so the markets fail... Have you noticed that on the free market...the true capitalist free enterprise market... that everytime Obama opens his mouth...the market drops a few hundred points? What if you call bullshit on the whole thing and go out and live your life. When a President makes a speech on TV (that somebody ELSE wrote for him) and makes a point to say the word CRISIS over 27 times...that should be a HUGE red flag to anybody.

What if John McCain would have won? I don't know. I know I'm not going to lose. I may end up with not much money, I may end up with no business, and I suppose I could end up not owning a home...but I'm NOT going to lose. To quote the common sentiment lately...the peasants are about ready to pick up the pitch forks...hope you have one ;)

Facebook Terms of Use / Service

Didn't your Mama ever teach you that ANYTHING you post on the internet is THERE FOREVER for posterity, and you should have MANNERS? I agree with all the news stories that Facebook's "new" Terms of Service clause gave cause for pause! GASP!!!, HORROR!!! EEEKKK!!, yep, the wording and text was egregious!

HOWEVER...just because the ORIGINAL terms of service wording gave you warm fuzzies...DID YOU THINK the same wasn't true? People! We're GLOBAL now, and have been for some time!
I'm a geek, and I only have teeny little talent...but I can copy & paste, right click, save, pirate, determine IP addresses, and grab most of anything anyone posts on the internet. It's NOT ROCKET SCIENCE! Don't believe everything you read. Believe only 1/2 of what you hear, and believe only 3/4 of what you see and witness! Be GLAD some things remain sacred because they should be. Be GLAD if you are a crazy fool celebrity that everybody that knows that doesn't tell it all! Paris Hilton probably did 10x more than got on the internet...like we care!

If you post it THEY will come! Facebook means you no malice! It's ONLY YOU that might post something you DON'T want someone else to find out. YOU posted it...so YOU obviously wanted someone to see, read, or hear it! YOU posed for a photo, or wrote a story, or gave an interview! DON'T BLAME FACEBOOK if you get caught with your hand in some cookie jar or with your pants down! You did it to yourself! Until you registered, made a comment, wrote a note, or posted a photo...FACEBOOK or any other mammal on the planet didn't even know YOU existed. Don't blame Facebook for what YOU chose to be literary content! The World Wide Web is just that...WORLD WIDE. It's like a giant bulletin board and YOU put a piece of paper on it with a thumb tack. They're pointy and hard remember?...those thumb tacks?

"Caveat Emptor" might also be another good phrase for those upset about Facebook's "terms of service" to Google :) And, caveat emptor to what others might post about us all...it's the honor system and old fashioned decency that needs to prevail. If you post it of others, it's malice...without permission. Or is it? If what you post is TRUE, then perhaps it's free speech? If you post things you don't want others to see, it's self malice unknowingly...don't post it if you aren't willing to eat it, and own it!

If it gets posted about you and it's untrue...then sue...if it is true guess you have to explain it and eat it. We all hope that those close to us will keep our secrets near and dear. Don't blame the World Wide Web for your transgressions I guess. The box was dark & deep until WWW.whatever...but now it's not. Don't blame Facebook for covering their corporate ass in a conservative way :) AND REMEMBER, the GOLDEN RULE!!!!

DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE DONE UNTO YOU! If the World Wide Web, or the general public would follow those rules, we'd all be a little better. If you do unto yourself by Facebook or general Web posting...then you're on your own :) It's a free country...destroy yourself if you must :)

Hillary Confirmed as Secretary of State

Well, the mass media does it again. This time though, I'm gonna give a bit of credit where credit is due...and then slam back on said credit :)

Do we not have bigger fish to fry lately than whether Hillary, or Hilary, or Mrs. Clinton dissed her husband in her acceptance speech? Washington, the hill, the White House, OUR GOVERNMENT has turned in to a really bad episode of some lame reality show. Survivor? Lost? Desperate Housewives? All of these top rated and hugely "successful" broadcasts get about as much of my attention as do an episode of my own stomach flu which thank God I haven't had in years!

However, today...the "hot news" is that Hillary was "RUDE" to poor Bill in her speech. I'm gonna give the polyester queen a kudo here. Ms. Pantsuit (and what's wrong with pantsuits by the way?) got on national television and actually said something REAL!!!

She said (in her acceptance speech for Secretary of State) that she is grateful to Bill Clinton [her husband] for all kinds of experiences [laughter] which have given her an extraordinary richness that she is grateful for and beholding to. ??????? BIG RED FLAG HERE????

I'm giving Hillary huge credit here for coming on TV and giving him a dig. It's NOT like we didn't all know it anyway? Remember the "I didn't have sex with that woman" speech before... or the fact that he doesn't seem somehow to think that a blow job or a cigar in the privates isn't somehow related to sex??? And IF that woman didn't KEEP the dress with semen on it...nobody would have ever known???

I give Hillary huge kudos to have the power she does and come out and remind us all of what she went through and make "light of it". I give her huge kudos for having the brass ovaries to remind Bill Clinton (the other Democratic saviour before Obama the messiah) that he made a mockery of his position as President! However...SOME OF US DON'T THINK IT'S FUNNY!

I sadly was a cheater once. I made that error and lost a family over it because of a stupid and BAD AND CORRUPT move. I'm a really decent person and committed an egregious felony that even I never thought I was capable of. I understand human error and downright despicable behaviour! I begged forgiveness, didn't get even a nod. I was with a true conservative in the purest sense. Screw me...screw you! Don't blame him for that...I crossed a line that cannot be un-crossed. I've since remarried, I'm happy and successful, but once, he too slipped and fell into a bad woman's arms or crotch...however you might seem to view it. Really good people have bad things happen to them, some do...some don't...but a lot of us do, and most likely when it happened it was hugely our own faults that caused it.

The thing I find appalling is that while most of us just try to muddle through our discretions, learn from them and NEVER IN A MILLION years make the same mistakes again...watch those people come on TV and give a guy a DIG and then say...that someone that bent you over and broke your heart...someone that screwed another while married to you...but...but...you are GRATEFUL FOR THEIR EXTRAORDINARY RICHNESS - AND YOU ARE GRATEFULLY BEHOLDING TO THEM? I don't get that! NOBODY is GRATEFUL for that experience and I've walked both sides of that fence!

I think it was funny that she called him on TV...I feel like for any discretion I ever committed I should NEVER be bothered by someone that reminds me of it...but hey...I KNOW the damage it causes others when you commit a personal and emotional crime on them...it's NEVER funny. And to those people that have committed those same crimes against me...I AM NOT GRATEFUL, NOR BEHOLDING TO YOU... I would hope that at some point...enough digs are enough...but hey...folks never forget and Hillary pulled that dig off nicely :) He deserved it, I deserved it, and my current husband deserves it once in a while... You WISH it would go away, you don't WANT to chastise someone else for something you once were guilty of, but you just can't help yourself. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD LEARN FROM THE PEOPLE! Some wrongs can be forgiven, they just can't be "righted". So goes it with Hilary & Bill.

We all in life may have made our peace with each other...but I'm neither grateful or beholding to those that transgressed against me...nor do I expect others I transgressed against to be grateful for my transgressions.

It would just be nice for once for a politician to come on TV...even a newly confirmed Secretary of State to say something like..."Yeah...Bill fucked Monica...I forgave him because I love him, or I forgave him because we make a lot of money together and we're great business partners and politicians. He's not since that day ever done it again and we for our own reasons decided to learn from that grave error of humanity...and even though he's an asshole, he's MY asshole...And hey...I can be a bitch too, and if I was doing my complete part as a wife...he'd have had enough at home to keep him from straying...we're BOTH responsible for that error, and I'm just happy we got through it and have survived."

NOBODY ever comes on TV and says what is REAL! Although I praise Hillary for getting in a bit of her reality...nobody ever comes on TV and states REAL reality. Folks come on TV and state their drama, but they never talk about real reality, or the common sense things that make it better. I hate that about our government, and I hate that about folks in general. We all fail, we all err in our ways...but shouldn't it be OK to admit it? Shouldn't it be OK to talk it all out and DO SOMETHING about it?

I've corrected my failing ways, I did that LONG before I met my husband. When you have absolute repercussions...you change and in a hurry. I love my husband and he loves me, despite our human flaws. BUT...we don't hide behind our flaws. We talk about them and we deal with them. So should the politicians...they ARE the humans we so blindly elect to office. They ARE just normal folks. Only YOU and others not thinking make THEM into something other than we. I've met many celebrities in my careers, and guess what...all just like us!

So NO...Hillary wasn't RUDE to Bill today...she was just honest for once...until she became grateful and beholding for his bad behaviour. If she wasn't willing to offer up some sort of REASON that Bill might have taken the blow job from the chick in the typing pool...then she was just another person in the limelight continuing to pour sugar on sour grapes.

You can pour sugar on sour all you want to, or you can throw sour in the trash when it's too spoiled to survive. Until folks try to deal with WHAT makes SOUR then you're never gonna solve anything, and some folks have to live with NO...or IT CAN'T...

All the times in my life when I fucked up so royally (thank God there are few)...NOBODY was there to bail me out. NOBODY was there to say they were "grateful and beholding to me" for my mistakes...they just bailed.

Hillary is no different. It's all smoke and mirrors. I'd actually like to sit in a bar with Hillary as a girlfriend...I'd like to change her mind on how she speaks to the rest of us. It's OK to keep Bill after his "episode"...but just DON'T try to tell all of us it's all OK every day with her...it isn't. Rich politicians have the same lives we all do. There is NO FAMILY without a skeleton or two in the closet. It just is what it is and THAT is something we can all understand!

If our politicians want us to follow their lead, then THEY need to LEAD in a direction that makes sense. If you screw up YOU PAY and DEARLY. 2+2=4...It's NOT that hard. Don't try to come on TV and make a cute speech while lying to our faces. Bill Clinton DID inhale, Richard Nixon was a crook, and all should just be real.

Friends You Don't Shoot

I think we've all heard the old saying about how folks come into your life for a reason, season, or a lifetime. Well...it's the lifetime friends you don't shoot :) Sometimes, you've only known these folks for a few years...but you know...they'll be there a lifetime, thus protected from any bullets :)

These lifetime friends have a fade to them in your mind's eye...because they fade somehow from the friendship category into the family category and you hardly noticed the transition whenever that happened. These friends are protected from bullets because you love them so much, they are the ONLY people allowed to give you huge shit and live through it.

Who says nobody is spending money? Who says the economy is flatter than a pancake? Conservatives spend money; in fact...they waste good money in order to tell those they love so much just how special they are :)

We went to dinner tonight with our friend Ray. Now Ray is a few years older than I (had to throw that in..."Pops"), but age between lifetime friends doesn't matter. He's really a better friend to my husband, that's how we met. We don't see Ray often, but keep in touch with electronics and technology. Imagine my surprise though tonight at dinner when Ray presented me with a beautiful little present...one of those kind that makes a woman giggle...you know the perfect sized little box :) JEWELERY!!!

Well, I opened my little special box (nice gold box with sparkly engraving that said "Plumb Gold Piercing Pagoda" on it) that was wrapped so perfectly. Inside was bright tissue paper folded around something small and wonderful :) I began to open my present in front of all...(remember Ray & I are lifetime friends now...we are like minded and see eye to eye on everything...he and my husband too)...

With held breath I open my gift...and what is inside? OH...NO...HELL NO...yep...it was this...

Obama Warns Against Limbaugh

I'm going to heavily defend Rush Limbaugh here. I didn't write this post a few days ago when I should have...and for the same reasons the "others" attack him. We don't want our "perceptions" to be tarnished in the eyes that hold a majority. I'm learning at a Mach III speed that if we keep that mentality, we're gonna perish and in short fashion. Rush may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I listen...and for the great majority of the time...the man speaks some heavy truth.

Sure...some don't care for his seemingly arrogant and bullyish style...but folks...LISTEN, listen BETWEEN the lines. Rush gets off on a "me" tangent once in a while...but he NEVER pretends that YOU must actually change your lives to condone it, or accept him in those humorous moments. He quite frankly just tries to state facts, and in his humorous self indulgent moments encourages anyone that doesn't like it to change the channel!

Rush Limbaugh DID NOT wish Barack Obama to fail. He merely stated a very well known fact among we the peons, that given all these policies Obama wishes to pass - and soon - that with the passage of the new change and the new expansion of our new Obama government, we will all fail due to simple math. Therefore, Mr. Limbaugh said...if wishing Obama to succeed would mean that he condoned all the catastrophe coming from the upcoming policy, and that our nation would be burdened with impossible outs that will come from Obama's likely actions very soon...then yes...one could suppose that Obama's success would mean a devastating failure for the USA...and on that premise...he would wish he [Obama] would fail. It's a very legitimate point to make.

Then today, I see the headline..."

After I see the headline...I read the story. THEN I see the quote from my new President that promised me hope and change..."I won," he said, according to aides who were briefed on the meeting. "I will trump you on that."

The response was to the objection by Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) to the president's proposal to increase benefits for low-income workers who don't owe federal income taxes. MY PRESIDENT is going to pull the "I trumped you card" when our country is dying on the vine? Are you shitting me? Yeah dude...you trumped me, the next guy, the illegal alien, the single mother, and all you fought so hard for to get their vote! "Trumping US" means you SCREW THEM...do ya get that yet?

I see Republicans (strike that...the few Conservatives) trying to stop all the unbelievable crap the liberals are trying to shove down our throats, up our asses, and around our necks! It certainly doesn't take a rocket scientist to see our Congress is in the worst state of corruption and blatant unconstitutional action than most of us can remember in our lifetimes. And yet...Mr. Obama comes out and makes a nice speech that his drama teacher would certainly give him an A+ for...but it's all crap, lies, bullshit, and YOU are going to pay dearly for it and YOU can't get enough of it. The majority of Americans can't get past Survivor, Desperate Housewives and other sundry "reality" scenarios. You'd rather donate your hard earned money to make sure your "real" TV is in tact than you would invest in a 401K.

When Mr. Obama takes all responsible people (people that actually have a positive balance in their checking accounts) out of the picture by taxing them to the point they are forced to quit - (small business owners, long term average employees making it, college students wanting to make it, etc...), and then the rich people (the VERY rich) continue to see the stock market ISN'T rising...investors can add 2+2. Even if greedy Wall St. executives cannot...those MILLIONS of people living on somebody else's dole or credit are going to realize WTF!

The VERY WEALTHY (which most of your government officials including Obama are) have enough money that losing a million or billion here or there is but one day they have sand in their eye. THOSE people, your Republican nor Democratic government go after...they have enough money to LOBBY (hate lobbyists), DONATE, be philanthropic, and weigh their way into "protection". On the other side of that coin...THEY PAY a whole hell of a lot more of your taxes than anyone else...so yeah...they have a right to a little attitude. Why should this nation penalize someone smart enough and successful enough to make a billion dollars? That's what we all wish we could do. I'd be damn happy to pay the same percentage of tax on my Billion (if I could ever reach even $500,000) that you pay on your Thousand ANY DAY! Charge us all 10%-20%...If I make a Billion...my check might be written for $2 million, and if you make $100...you pay $20. I'd vote for that all day long and be HAPPY to write a large check.

I'M NOT HAPPY WRITING CHECKS FOR FOLKS THAT WRITE NO CHECK!!!!

Guess what flower, peace, and green folks...when those - ANYBODY - that has two more dollars than you do no longer has those two dollars...the degenerate, the dependant, the folks that lazed around not being aggressive about their futures are going to realize in short fashion what WTF really means. We will no longer have it to give to you - therefore - you'll be shit out of luck. The $20 you could have paid against my $2 million will suddenly make more sense to you! I'm pretty sure that's why Jesus burned in stone...Thou shalt not covet. Don't covet what you don't have when what someone else has is paying your bills.

I've spent my entire life so far working so hard to be able to have enough to give back. I've got to tell you something....most of the people I gave back to grabbed it up, took it, and never looked back. There are those though that reluctantly accept some help and cannot wait to give you back some and then some. Those people are the principals of Conservatism. Those people are capitalists and realize that socialism doesn't work. Those people are NOT the people that take advantage of those who love them most but bust their ass to pay a couple of dollars to a person or establishment that will never appreciate it, know it, nor think twice about it. Desperate people always turn to those closest to them for relief...yet never think it important to make those people first in line when the payback comes. How long does a liberal society think this kind of behaviour will be tolerated? At some point - - - Oh yeah... - - - it happend once, it was called the Civil War...the oxymoron of the century, but those that fought had a real beef!

The government, and big business, and small bad business along with the entitlement generation take hold of the Americans. But, they make great speeches and tell you how much more wonderful your life will be if you just drink their "ISM" juice. Whatever ism ails you...they have a medicine for it! Soon, you're addicted to the formula and never saw your death coming. For all that think bailouts and loans with no collateral are a good thing to make sure Americans (legal, illegal, or foreign) have just those "God given rights"...be VERY AFRAID!!! Those of us paying for it, and paying for all of you are running out of money too. And when we...we the conservative thinkers, and savers of money run out of ours...YOU HAVE NOTHING!

A great majority of people have never even had an IRA or a 401K besides a $10 per week donation or so. For those that do...another majority didn't until they were 30-35 years old, and even then it was $10 per week or so...minimum contributions. For those that took the plunge and put in the maximum...we've lost over 50% of our holdings in this economy. That's 50% less that we (the supposed rich - the ones in the "upper" tax brackets) have to pay in our taxes.

Guess what? "We've" all lost so much money this year...we're paying the same 50% less in taxes that we have in our investment accounts. Most of the smart heavily invested folk saw the shit hitting the fan and pulled their money after they lost about 30%... I waited too long to make a move...waited too long years ago to save, and most of the ones now totally uneducated in finance at all that were too busy attending Barack Obama great speech rallies...just left their money where it was...didn't even look at it. With the "upper class" (that's such a joke to me as I know where I stand and Obama considers me to be one of them)...being about 50% down...the tax dollars collected to give all the takers their special benefits are also down!

Obama, the RINOS, and the libs want to plunk out another $850 Billion to $1.5 Trillion to make it all better. Again, from my tax dollars and I'm already down 50%. How does that make sense to ANY OF YOU? You all KNOW YOU don't have any money to throw down to pay TARP back, or the next and the next stimulus bill. Nope...those of us that keep on trying to pay our taxes and bills on time will have to give you some more. HEAR ME PEOPLE - WE DON'T HAVE ANY MORE TO GIVE EITHER!!!!

Wake up and smell the coffee! There can hardly be a person on the earth that hasn't heard the old saying "you cannot draw blood from a turnip". Well...most of us DIDN'T fall OFF a turnip truck and we have no more blood to draw. We're coming after your blood...the green kind...if you don't have it...get out and earn it like the rest of us had to in order to support your sad butts as long as we've had to already!

Remember this too...STOP taking everything totally out of context. If you are reading this thinking what a bitch I am to have the gall to speak to you that way...then YOU AREN'T the one I'm talking to. If YOU didn't do it, then YOU aren't guilty! Pay up USA...it's getting OLD! Your government cannot take care of you with an A+ in speech class! Actions speak louder than words...be very afraid...fight back! BUT...if you've been drinking the ISM juice...watch this! It was made ONLY 60 FREAKING YEARS AGO...not much has changed sadly!

Barack Obama Inauguration

Well, it's over. We have inaugurated the 44th President of the USA. I'm trying so hard to keep my happy and positive face on and hope for the best, but the facts keep stabbing me like sharp knives and pokers as I sit in a pool of paint thinner.

I found a couple of things disturbing as I watched the "festivities" today. Since when during any inauguration is the new First Lady NOT arm and arm with her husband at all times? Am I the only one that noticed Barack Obama had his woman sitting behind him...or coming out before him...and then again behind him...and only with him for a brief moment at the moment of oath? I found that odd and disturbing. I find that odd a lot with Barack H. Obama. He has a knack of always walking into a situation or a place all alone with that overly ME auora about him. I find it creepily narcissistic.

I realize he flubbed the oath. The gentleman giving it flubbed too. This observation has nothing to do with that...as I don't judge folks in an extremely emotional moment that get tongue tied and have a goof...we are all human. BUT...as I listened to Joe Biden's oath...it was read by his orator perfectly, and he quoted back the oath as it should be. Is it just me...or did any of you find it odd that Barack Hussein Obama did NOT swear in his inaugural oath to defend this nation against enemies both foreign and domestic. That's like one of the hugest parts of the whole oath! I find that eerie that he ommitted that from his oath and I also find it UNAMERICAN!

I guess we'll see. I'm trying to be positive, but this man makes it hard. I do wish him the best, but more than ANYTHING I just hope SOMEONE in the next four years will remember that we...WE THE PEOPLE are still out here waving frantically hoping that someone again might notice US. It's become so all about THEM in Washington...it feels to me like it's THEM up there, and WE down here are just little trolls that meander around cluttering up the countryside while they carry on their own personal agendas on our dime.

Pete Parham - A Really Nice Guy

I've just recently gotten involved at Facebook.com. I've been "registered" for some time, but never paid much attention to it. And strangly this last week or so a lot of folks have popped up from my home town in Texas. All grown up living all over the place and it's been cool to stop in and say hey to some faces from long ago.

Well...although not on Facebook, but through those contacts we hear today that one of ours...one of our high school mates died. His name was Pete Parham. He was a great guy back in school. One of those kids that has all the looks, all the moves, played ball, was a captain #83, and was ever so popular. BUT, he was also a really decent kid. He always had a smile and something kind to say.

His Dad Gene was an awesome man too. Back in the day, Gene had a TV/Appliance repair shop and was an ordained minister on the side. He was the cool preacher though. Gene had an affinity for the young folk, and I say this as someone that saw Gene at the local Dairy Queen up and into my 40's. Gene, like his son Pete was a handsome man and of great stature too...even into his 70's :) Just good people that didn't judge folks, loved all folks, and could for sure bring out the best in folks no matter the circumstance.

I didn't know Pete Parham well, except for basic friendly chatter around school, or later in life at a few really good parties...but he was the nicest guy. I think that's a legacy of sorts. I never in all my years in Colorado City ever heard of ANYONE that didn't like Pete Parham. I suppose some might not have travelled in his particular circles...but NOBODY that I ever knew disliked him. He was an icon of my little generation in that little town, and I know he touched a lot of lives.

How sad is it today that he has passed on and the many people he touched lost touch with him and never actually told him what a special guy he was. But I think that's how the Lord intended it persay...to make a difference and not make a scene doing it. Pete was certainly that guy.

Rest in peace brother, and thanks for the memories :)

Boy...if 2008 wasn't trippy enough...let's hope 2009 will bring much happiness and prosperity to all.

I'm an odd Capricorn :) Christmas is Dec. 25th just when I got over Thanksgiving, my birthday is Dec. 30th, and New Year's falls with the Eve on the 31st and the day on Jan. 1st. Let's just say I get a LOT of partying in during a few days.

So...I'm officially 46 now, and wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR! Let's make this year one of history, formed BY the people, for the people and taken to the original levels of what America is all about as given to us by our God, and our founding fathers!

A funny, nice guy who loved to fly. That's how Christian P. Humphreys is remembered by his friends. "He was a great guy, always happy and had a joke," said Sean Whitney, a flight medic. "We used to play with our paintball guns in the cornfields behind his house."

Humphreys flew with the Fallon Naval Air Station Search and Rescue Longhorns from June 6, 2004, to May 5, 2006. He left the Navy and joined the Army as part of the "Blue to Green" program to become a helicopter pilot.

Humphreys, along with Chief Warrant Officer 3 Donald V. Clark, 37 years old from Tennessee, was killed when their OH-58 Kiowa helicopter crashed while on a mission over Mosul, Iraq. As a rescue crew chief, Humphreys was in charge of the operation behind the pilots. He made the decisions when to deploy rescue crews out of the helicopter to assist injured people, and he also took care of the equipment.

"He was a funny guy, a nice guy, a lot of character," said Petty Officer 2nd Class Justin Schmidt. "The guy was always entertaining, always had something to say, but like everyone here, he displayed the professionalism in saving lives."

I am really sick and tired of whichever side of the over analyzed side of a fence that is continually shoved up my rear end and attempted to be forged into my psyche!

I do consider myself a Christian. I believe in our Lord and Saviour and everything that goes along with Him. I also understand the secular side of life.

This "so called" offensive Playboy cover shot of a "so called" Virgin Mary, and those coming undone about the photograph are STUPID! It's nothing more or less than any OTHER Playboy cover photo in history. This is merely a beautiful woman wrapped in a white sheet pretending to be some dream gal. Same as any other Playboy cover in history!

This woman in NO WAY resembles to ME a virgin Mary, or any other virgin. HELLOOOOO! If your half naked self is on the cover of Playboy...it has NOTHING to do with Christianity. TRUE Christian girls, or those worried about their purity and reputation DON'T wrap a table cloth around their bare breasts as to CONFUSE the PUBLIC! So... the over doers need to STOP making it seem so as do all the OTHER media SPIN folks with the rest of the news.

Get a GRIP MEDIA! You aren't fooling ANYONE with your nonsense...even though it's ONLY about the BILLIONTH time you've tried to do so.

Hot woman wrapped in an elegant table cloth, or a Wal-Mart sheet DOES NOT A VIRGIN MARY MAKE! WE THE PEOPLE know better...so should YOU! And...since Playboy has made their trillions portraying half naked women willing for money to pose in such a manner...should cue YOU "other" folk into knowing that it is what it is...and if you are offended...DON'T BUY THE FREAKING MAGAZINE!

The "rest of us" wouldn't HAVE EVEN KNOWN she... "she...the offensive"virgin" Mary" even existed but for YOU THE MEDIA pushing it in our faces! Smart people are capable and even willing to NOT LOOK and NOT BUY such magazines.

HOW DARE YOU THE MEDIA try to tell "US" that a paid hussy is any more than she is! I doubt Playboy Magazine has EVER had a virgin on the cover! Only gold-diggers! AND...if you ask me...Playboy KNOWING what kind of business they are in are pussies (pun INTENDED) for publishing and speaking an apology!

If you are in the business of photographing hussies on book covers...then admit it, own it , and be proud of it since that's YOUR business.

Wednesday Hero - Jonnie L. Stiles

Louisiana National Guard spokesman Maj. Michael Kazmierzak said Spc. Jonnie L. Stiles had been serving as a gunner on a Humvee doing route clearance when and IED detonated near his vehicle in Jalalabad, Afghanistan. He said the job typically involves checking roads for bombs and insurgents.

Stiles' wife, Launa, said that he was nearly killed last month when a suicide bomber blew up a military vehicle in front of his. She said he was still able to rescue three other soldiers and returned to duty before his 30-day recovery period was finished.

"He was strong and really cared for his men," she said.

Stiles was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and graduated from Littleton High School in Colorado. He served in the military for 17 years, first joining the Marines and then switching to the Army in 1999. He served three years at Fort Carson, left the Army and then returned as a member of the Colorado Air National Guard in the Summer of 2007.
