BLAH BLAH BLOG - THE SOAP BOX: August 2008

Barack Obama, what an amazing story of accomplishment huh? I’ve followed the Democratic National Convention from start to finish, watching each day. I was a delegate to my county and state conventions. Conventions are exciting and there is an air of importance to the day and the things said and/or accomplished (or not as it were in Nevada :).

I’m not totally heartless! I found some good things within the DNC convention. In my opinion…of all nights…Joe Biden God love his misguided soul and practice of politics brought every woman in America to tears…AFTER…they already cried when his son spoke first. It’s true. Based on pure content…Biden and his family were touching. I am a mother, all politics aside, and this family has endured much. My children were basically raised by a Stepfather, and I am a total sap when it comes to family. The Biden son’s story of childhood, and the elderly mother in the stands…I bawled like a baby…I know what it’s like to sit in an audience and see your son do something good and just melt with pride. I know what it’s like to be enormously proud of your spouse for goals accomplished, it’s heartwarming. Biden had the best night and best speech even if it was all bullshit apart from the family.

The other thing I can state with a 100% guarantee and without any equivocation whatsoever is that Barack Obama could have been President of the United States of America with a guarantee. If only he was a true Conservative and truly believed in the principles that made our nation great, strong, and a global entity of almost omnipotent force…he could have been President. Hey…the jury is still out, he might win anyway…we don’t know (Lord help us all if he does). My point here is that if he were a Conservative, and truly had our nation’s best interest at heart…he would win by a landslide unequal to none ever seen. But…he’s a bleeding heart liberal, and a good man gone wasted on liberal gibberish, grandiose ideals of the perfect world, and fairly transparent as an individual behind the eloquence…and Barack Obama is 100% equivocal 100% of the time.

But…given his presidential looks, his undeniable gift of public speaking and motivation, and his charisma…it’s too bad that he’s not on the Right side. We’ll see tomorrow if McCain picks Mitt Romney or not. I believe if McCain teams with Romney, they will win. If he chooses someone else…brace yourselves folks…it’s gonna be a long four years to come. A few points in tonight’s speech I found quandary with…

· “More of you have cars you can't afford to drive, credit card bills you can't afford to pay, and tuition that's beyond your reach.” If you cannot afford your credit card bills…it’s because you CHARGED TOO DAMN MUCH ON THEM! Credit cards are one of the MOST LIBERAL items in America. You can owe THOUSANDS, and have minimum payments of $10-$100. If you can’t pay them, it’s your OWN FAULT…YOU CREATED YOUR OWN BALANCE! There are TONS of stores and cards that offer NO INTEREST AT ALL for 6 months or 1 YEAR. If you buy more than you can pay for in 6 months or one year HERE’S A CONSERVATIVE HINT…DO WITHOUT IT!

· IF YOUR INCOME LEVEL IS AT THAT LEVEL BARACK OBAMA DECLARES AS MIDDLE CLASS…YOU HAVE TUITION ALREADY PROVIDED FOR YOU FOR COLLEGE!!! If your family doesn’t make enough money to afford your college tuition…it’s easy to apply for and receive a college GRANT (doesn’t EVER have to be paid back), or a student LOAN in which you are provided VERY LOW INTEREST and easy payments AFTER YOU GRADUATE AND HAVE A JOB!!! It’s only those of us that DO PAY our bills and DO PAY our credit cards that are told we MAKE TOO MUCH money for our kid to get a break on tuition or educational expenses…give me a BREAK!

· “And when one of his chief advisers (McCain’s advisor) -- the man who wrote his economic plan -- was talking about the anxieties that Americans are feeling, he said that we were just suffering from a "mental recession," and that we've become, and I quote, "a nation of whiners." WE ARE A NATION OF WHINERS! You whine you can’t pay your credit card bills, you whine because you cannot find the office to gain college tuition that IS AVAILABLE to you. You whine “Oh POOR me”…but the same folks whining can be seen on any given night at the local bar, or out to eat at a local diner, or at the football game…OR even at the casino. Whining Americans always have enough money for frivolous fun, habits, or entertainment…they just cannot afford gas or an electric bill. FOR THOSE TOTALLY HELPLESS…there IS help already on the books in America. BUDGET…LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS…QUIT SUPPORTING YOUR LAZY KIDS AFTER THEY’RE GROWN…and you’ll have a LOT more money in your pocket.

· “Now, I don't believe that Sen. McCain doesn't care what's going on in the lives of Americans. I just think he doesn't know.”… “It's not because John McCain doesn't care. It's because John McCain doesn't get it.” NO…Mr. Barack Obama living in YOUR nice house with YOUR same privileges…I don’t THINK…I KNOW…IT’S YOU WHO DOESN’T GET IT!

· “In Washington, they call this the Ownership Society, but what it really means is that you're on your own. Out of work? Tough luck. You're on your own. No health care? The market will fix it. You're on your own. Born into poverty? Pull yourself up by your own bootstraps -- even if you don't have boots. You are on your own.” Guess WHAT Mr. Barack Obama…I, like you WAS BORN into poverty! My folks didn’t whine…they did the best they could. They did just fine. They were happy in their existence, or I suppose they would have changed it. GUESS WHAT ELSE? At some point, you turn the magical age of 18…at that point in America…YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN…AND IT’S A GREAT PLACE TO BE! I got student loans, a grant, and a bit of a scholarship. Unfortunately I pissed that all away and still ended up ON MY OWN. I got a good job, struggled a LOT along the way…NEVER HAD A THING JUST GIVEN TO ME…I now own three businesses, have over 20 employees, live in a beautiful home, and LOVE MY LIFE! And THANKFULLY it was all due to the fact that I WAS ON MY OWN! If I would have taken the liberal hand-outs when I was down and out (but not totally helpless…that’s different), then I would be a victim of the system…and I’d still be there taking the food stamps instead of doing without and working my way through it. No health care? Been there…got a job, got benefits, did without something else…and if I WOULD HAVE had a catastrophic illness during that time…there is still Medicare and Medicaid for those HELPLESS! Pull yourself up by your own bootstraps—even if you don’t have boots? I grew up in Texas, a little cowgirl…we couldn’t afford boots. I proudly bought myself my first pair of cowboy boots in high school after I got a JOB…that’s spelled J.O.B. And yes…given true effort by all, and responsible spending by all, and NOT GIVING OUR NATION AWAY to illegals and those that COULD DO BETTER FOR THEMSELVES…the MARKET WILL fix itself. THEN WE ALL HAVE THE MONEY to provide for those that TRULY CANNOT!

· “We measure the strength of our economy not by the number of billionaires we have or the profits of the Fortune 500, but by whether someone with a good idea can take a risk and start a new business, or whether the waitress who lives on tips can take a day off and look after a sick kid without losing her job -- an economy that honors the dignity of work.” Hey Obama…guess what? We had a good idea…AND IN A REPUBLICAN GOVERNMENT CYCLE…we started a business on a loan. We laugh and WISH we could become billionaires…or make the Fortune 500…but we do OK. And, the waitress that lives on tips and can’t take a day off for fear of losing her job has NOTHING TO DO with POLITICS OR THE ECONOMY. She just works for an asshole and should get another job! I lived on tips for 20 years…did quite well thank you…tip jobs are GREAT if you seek out the right one. It’s probably all the OTHER days the waitress is late, hung over, or has already called in that caused her to lose her job.

· “In the face of that young student who sleeps just three hours before working the night shift, I think about my mom, who raised my sister and me on her own while she worked and earned her degree; who once turned to food stamps but was still able to send us to the best schools in the country with the help of student loans and scholarships.” You stepped on yourself here Barack Obama…you just answered your own beefs with a Conservative answer (HAHAHA) The young student that sleeps just three hours before working the night shift. Hummmm…let’s analyze this one from MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE…I have a son in college. He gets NO grants, loans, or discounts because we’re one of those HATED small business owners…”all high class that make too much money”. He got the Millennium Scholarship due to grades and it’s a Nevada thing…for ALL STUDENTS OF NEVADA that keep a 3.25 grade average or so. HOWEVER…it’s about $1000 per semester AND WE GOT 1099’d for it…we paid taxes on it. So…we pay out the nose at the LOWEST tuition Division 1 university in the nation. We pay for college…and meals…but if he wants to have fun or live somewhere besides the dorm or at home…he has to pay…YEAH…THE OWNERSHIP SOCIETY…HE’S ON HIS OWN! So what does he do? He got a job…THE NIGHT SHIFT! (Don’t tell anybody…it’s at that OTHER HATED ENTITY—WAL-MART!). He drives 45 minutes to go to work on a 12 hour shift. He works 3 12 hour shifts and then has what…TUESDAY-THURSDAY OFF in order to go to school! Oh, he also only makes a mere $18.75 per hour for his efforts. BUT…on that first day of work after slaving at school…he only gets to sleep about 3 hours before working the night shift. And by the way…your Mom HAS NO SHAME FOR TAKING FOOD STAMPS! BUT…she took them when she NEEDED them, but SHE WORKED…she worked her way out of it and raised you. SHE SENT YOU TO THE BEST SCHOOLS WITH THE HELP OF STUDENT LOANS AND SCHOLARSHIPS! HELLO!!!...Barack…KNOCK KNOCK ON YOUR HEAD…HELLO??? Student loans are for the STUDENT…NOT THE MOTHER…SCHOLORSHIPS…are earned by the STUDENT NOT THE MOTHER…WHY don’t you just say some of it like it is…a LOT of this you DID FOR YOUR SELF ON THE OWNERSHIP SOCIETY PROGRAM…YOU got your OWN student loans and your OWN scholarships…DUH!!! Are you SURE you might not be a Republican somewhere deep within???

· “Our government should work for us, not against us. It should help us, not hurt us. It should ensure opportunity not just for those with the most money and influence, but for every American who's willing to work.” BEWARE OBAMA BANDWAGON RIDERS…This comment is truly Conservative. Like he’ll actually DO anything he’s said…but IF HE DID…all those of you who are downtrodden, poor, whining Americans…”The VICTIM SOCIETY”…he just said…you’re gonna have to WORK for your opportunity…DUH…

· “That's the promise of America -- the idea that we are responsible for ourselves, but that we also rise or fall as one nation; the fundamental belief that I am my brother's keeper; I am my sister's keeper.” Here’s where Obama falls back into Liberal La La Land…we ARE responsible for ourselves, and those UNABLE to care for themselves…our brothers and sisters. However…we rise as a nation when every citizen of the nation takes that to heart…we all do our best and try our hardest. We often FALL as a nation because of STUPID policy and NON-ENFORCEMENT OF ALREADY EXISTING LAWS created by men and women of PAST GOVERNMENT CABINETS DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN! We FALL because we are NOT RESPONSIBLE for ourselves…AND LIBERAL GOVERNMENTAL POLITICIANS IMPOSE NO REPERCUSSIONS ON THOSE THAT FAIL THEMSELVES…we have LAWS AGAINST ILLEGAL ENTRY to our country…but we PAY FOR THEIR EDUCATION AND HEALTH CARE! STOP paying for those that AREN’T RESPONSIBLE FOR THEMSELVES…and our economy is fixed! And…I’m NOT by brother’s keeper! I’m NOT my sister’s keeper! I’ll help my fellow citizens, my family, and my children ANYTIME they fall on a time when they CANNOT get along…but for God’s sake…KEEP YOURSELF. If you’re a shithead and in and out of jail over and over…I’M NOT YOUR KEEPER. If YOU keep popping out kid after kid when condoms cost less than $5 a package I’M NOT YOUR KEEPER. When drugs are more important than rent…I’M NOT YOUR KEEPER! YOU just joined THE OWNERSHIP SOCIETY! Own it…drown in it…YOU CHOSE IT! FREEDOM…REMEMBER…YOU’RE JUST AS FREE TO FAIL AS YOU ARE TO SUCCEED!

· “Change means a tax code that doesn't reward the lobbyists who wrote it, but the American workers and small businesses who deserve it.” I’ll give Obama credit here…except “He Doesn’t Get It”…same as McCain. CHANGE DOES MEAN a TAX CODE that is fair. I say 10%. If you make $20 per year…you pay $2 in taxes. If I make $100,000 per year I pay $10,000 in taxes. If Barack Obama’s description of McCain’s middle class ($5 MILLION earners…I call bullshit on that one)…then that guy pays $500,000 in taxes…THAT’S FAIR. The rich STILL pay MORE than all the POOR VICTIMS, but THEN…WE ARE TRULY ALL IN THE SAME BOAT…insuring that “we ensure opportunity not just for those with the most money, AND we rise or fall as one nation”.

· “I will, listen now, cut taxes -- cut taxes -- for 95 percent of all working families. Because in an economy like this, the last thing we should do is raise taxes on the middle-class.” Here we go back to “rise and fall as one nation”. Raise my taxes or lower them…whatever…make my raise or decrease the same as the guy’s raise or decrease that makes $20. Don’t pick on me because I pay my bills and employ and pay the house payments for 20+ families! You CANNOT help the wage earner if you PENALIZE the WAGE PAYER…remember that Obama. I don’t mind paying my part…just make my part the same part EVERYBODY ELSE pays.

· “Washington's been talking about our oil addiction for the last 30 years, and by the way John McCain's been there for 26 of them. And in that time, he's said no to higher fuel-efficiency standards for cars, no to investments in renewable energy, no to renewable fuels. And today, we import triple the amount of oil that we had as the day that Sen. McCain took office.” Oil Addiction…hmmmm…I come from Texas…oil country. Maybe we’re “addicted”, but the reason we IMPORT TRIPLE the amount of oil is the fact that YOU AND YOUR GOVERNMENT REPUBLICAN AND DEMOCRAT WON’T DRILL HERE AND DRILL NOW AT HOME…DUH!!! WE have plenty of oil…LET’S DRILL OUR OWN!! AND…my own Nevada Congressman went to a HUGE seminar/trade show for fuel-efficient vehicles. He drove one (five years ago). It went not quite 50 miles per hour on speed. The battery needed to be charged after 100 miles (6-8 hours). He asked…how much would this vehicle cost? $1,000,000! YES…ONE MILLION DOLLARS! Five years later, (recently) he went to another show like that. Some improvements had been made…but still…hours to charge, less than 300 miles per charge, expensive replacement parts…and STILL…the cost was $1,000,000 FIVE YEARS LATER…WE AREN’T THERE YET ON TECHNOLOGY…STOP SHOVING THAT UP OUR BUTTS. YES, we have hybrid cars (gasoline/electric combined…still not away from petroleum using cars)…we own garages…the $75-$95 dollar battery you put in your current car costs between $1500 and $3000 for hybrid cars…and every 2-3 years they must be replaced…not economical for “middle class” folk. We Conservative folk believe in three things for energy relief…Conservation where possible, Continued research and development into alternative resources and vehicular replacements (YEARS AWAY)…BUT DRILL HERE…DRILL NOW…it’s a fact. We will be oil dependant for many years to come until a reasonable alternative is developed…and until then…LET’S JOIN THE OWNERSHIP SOCIETY…let’s OWN our OWN oil…let’s create 100,000’S OF JOBS FOR OUR POOR FOLK…let’s be self sufficient and SUCCEED for once as a nation…remember rise and fall…LET’S RISE.

· “And I'll invest $150 billion over the next decade in affordable, renewable sources of energy -- wind power and solar power and the next generation of biofuels; an investment that will lead to new industries and 5 million new jobs that pay well and can't be outsourced.” Just curious…who’s going to PAY for your $150 BILLION PROJECT…Did you pass bond initiatives? Do you already have private donors from America’s HUGE CORPORATE DEGENERATES you hate so much? I don’t think so. It’s pretty LAME to PROMISE $150 BILLION to ANYONE when you DON’T know who’s going to pay for it…oh but wait…I know…the single mother raising her kids will pay for part of it every time she spends $.07 on a dollar in tax…that’s right…the HIDDEN RAISED TAXES…You’re full of SHIT Obama.

· “Now is the time to finally meet our moral obligation to provide every child a world-class education, because it will take nothing less to compete in the global economy.” “And I will not settle for an America where some kids don't have that chance.” “If you commit to serving your community or our country, we will make sure you can afford a college education.” NOW IS THE TIME…Dude…public education has been free in this nation forever! We USED to have the opportunity for a WORLD CLASS education in our schools. But…LIBERALS…have taken that all away, and now they poison our children’s minds with the notion that “everything must be politically correct”. We can’t hug or touch our kids anymore…sexual predatory behavior, and innapproiate and all. We cannot discipline our children anymore with corporal punishment when they are flat brats…because…that’s cruel and unnecessary punishment…we should leave that to parents that won’t even return a principal’s phone call…AND GOD FORBID WE DAMAGE THEIR SELF ESTEEM! Our kids don’t pray at school anymore because the RIGHT to HAVE MORAL BACKGROUND OR BACKBONE is after all a GOD given right…therefore…we should leave God out of it. So many people have entered this country illegally…but hey…they were looking for a better way, and we SHOULD RESPECT THEIR CULTURE…let’s don’t require a Pledge of Allegiance to OUR USA flag…because…just possibly…they would rather look at a flag of the damned country they crawled out of to come here chasing the AMERICAN DREAM! And…IF YOU COMMIT to serving our community or COUNTRY…THEN we will make sure you can afford a college education??? We ALREADY have free schools, we ALREADY have a system in place that if ALLOWED TO RUN THE WAY IT WAS SET UP IN THE FIRST PLACE will provide for EVERY LEGAL CHILD a WORLD CLASS EDUCATION…and they don’t have to COMMIT TO ANYTHING. It all goes back to the blessed Ownership Society…if YOU as an individual WANT to learn…the opportunity is ALREADY provided for you. If YOU CHOOSE to then serve your community or SERVE YOUR COUNTRY, then you OWN THAT CHOICE…it’s called freedom! REMEMBER BARACK OBAMA…those that serve our country do it daily…we serve in our own way…THOSE THAT FIGHT FOR OUR COUNTRY DO IT BECAUSE THEY WANT TO…THEY VOLUNTEER!!! They don’t trade that choice for a “world class” education with constraints or requirements…THE SOCIALIST GOVERNMENTS PROVIDE THAT SORT OF EDUCATION. Again…Barack Obama…you just don’t get it.

· “Now, many of these plans will cost money” YOU BET YOUR ASS THEY WILL IF YOU ARE ELECTED!!!

· “For while Sen. McCain was turning his sights to Iraq just days after 9/11, I stood up and opposed this war, knowing that it would distract us from the real threats that we face.” Barack Hussein Obama!!! JUST DAYS AFTER 9/11??? Is this the attitude I’m supposed to expect just DAYS AFTER the NEXT attack on our country? If 9/11 didn’t stir you up a bit…could you please just let me know WHAT KIND OF CATASTROPHE IT WOULD TAKE to constitute a thought in your mind that “SOMEBODY’S ASS NEEDS TO BE KICKED”? What is “the REAL THREAT” we face that would make you more likely to vote ON A WAR? Just askin’…Inquiring minds want to know…”You know, John McCain likes to say that he'll follow bin Laden to the Gates of Hell -- but he won't even go to the cave where he lives.” Does this mean you have the cave address? Are you going to blow Osama Bin Laden out of that cave? Just curious. You said that with such reverent confidence…I could swear you must have sent him a Christmas card or something. Was it Osama Bin Laden / 123 Cave Afghanistan / Possibly 123 Cave Pakistan / or just cave Obama…if YOU know where he is…WHY HAVEN’T YOU DROPPED A DIME ON HIM…OR A BOMB…GIVE US ALL A FREAKING BREAK!!!

· “Even the Bush administration, even after we learned that Iraq has $79 billion in surplus while we are wallowing in deficits” Barack Obama…if you have a secret for Iraq to write us a check…you should have told us. I think we don’t need YOU to “enlighten” us all to this mystery! Will the Obama administration actually CASH a check from the Iraqi’s for the cost of their freedom…NOT! It doesn’t matter that this little “tidbit” of secret information was unleashed in your acceptance speech…YOU aren’t going to do anything about it anymore than any other administration could do. It is what it is. You may STOP the war…but you aren’t going to get any money out of them…

· “You don't defeat a terrorist network that operates in 80 countries by occupying Iraq. You don't protect Israel and deter Iran just by talking tough in Washington. You can't truly stand up for Georgia when you've strained our oldest alliances. If John McCain wants to follow George Bush with more tough talk and bad strategy, that is his choice -- but that is not the change that America needs.” Well Mr. Barrack Obama…you are RIGHT! You DON’T defeat a terrorist network that operates in 80 countries by occupying Iraq. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT? Talking tough protects NO NATION…WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO TO PROTECT ISRAEL…WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO TO DETER IRAN…you mysteriously left all that part out of your speech… THE SAME WAY TALKING TOUGH IN WASHINGTON DOES NO GOOD…TALKING SHIT ABOUT YOUR OPPONENT WITHOUT STATING A WAY TO OUTDO HIM ALSO DOES NO GOOD! A big bag of eloquent hot air you are I say. Without a plan of counter-attack…your words are just wasted Washington hot air to the rest of us. It’s REALLY EASY to point fingers and say HOW BAD the “other guy” did it, but UNLESS YOU HAVE A PLAN AND A BETTER WAY…then shut up. I’ve never been to Missouri…but I love their slogan…THE SHOWME STATE…I don’t know if Missouri residents agree…but as for you Barrack Obama…quit talking and SHOW ME something…oh yeah…you only spent 143 days in the Senate…maybe SHOW ME a little…how’s that?

· “I will end this war in Iraq responsibly, and finish the fight against al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan.” Mr. Obama, you CANNOT END THIS WAR unless you FIRST FINISH THE FIGHT against al Qaeda and the Taliban! Now, if you were to say “I’m going to KICK al QAEDA and the TALIBAN’S ENTIRE ASS…blow them into oblivion, and THEN END the war…then you’d be saying something…and so would McCain. But…we don’t want to be inhumane and hurt the Taliban’s or al Qaeda’s self esteem now do we?

· “I know there are those who dismiss such beliefs as happy talk. They claim that our insistence on something larger, something firmer and more honest in our public life is just a Trojan Horse for higher taxes and the abandonment of traditional values. And that's to be expected. Because if you don't have any fresh ideas, then you use stale tactics to scare voters. If you don't have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from.” Happy talk is for the back yard, at home, in the work place, and yes even in politics. However Barrack Obama…be very careful of what you say…for in this paragraph…your speech was an autobiographical statement. You ARE a Trojan Horse for higher taxes. You WANT to abandon TRADITIONAL values for liberal condonement of non-traditional behavior. You don’t have fresh ideas; you just have an ultra dramatic and eloquent way of stating excuses for the same old crap that has brought our nation to its knees due to the overabundance of the same. You use STALE tactics to try to get people to believe in your hyperbole of your record and your capability to FIX this nation, or to FIX WASHINGTON. AND THIS JUST TOPS THE CAKE…”IF YOU DON’T HAVE A RECORD TO RUN ON, THEN YOU PAINT YOUR OPPONET AS SOMEONE PEOPLE SHOULD RUN FROM” If that’s not the pot calling the kettle black, I’ve never seen it.

· "We cannot walk alone," the preacher cried. "And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. We cannot turn back." Well, I didn’t have Reverend Wright for a preacher…but MY PREACHER taught me about the Footprints In The Sand. You see, Conservatives too believe that we cannot walk alone. We must strive to walk side by side. We do march ahead, but in doing so we try hard to march side by side ahead, or carry those that cannot walk at all. If you CAN WALK but by the freedom given to you first by God, and then by the United States of America…and YOU CHOOSE NOT TO WALK…then left behind you will be because behind is where you wanted to be. Otherwise you will be carried.

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,

“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”

The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”
