Friends Lost & Gone - Sad But True

What happens to people you used to know - used to look up to - and then "poof" life changes, circumstances change, and voila - a new sad person is born. HOW MANY times can you watch one individual be on top of the world - and then in the gutter AGAIN? Sometimes it's not all sad - sometimes you just catch folks you still know in a 2 + 2 = 95 moment and you just shake your head. Thank goodness some make it, some don't, and I suppose at one moment or another in our own lives - we've been that person??? But only and hopefully after being in the gutter or close ONCE - you don't EVER end up there again - most figure it out and can call a medium to rock bottom the worst ever - but MULTIPLE trips to the bottom and the gutter??? Running errands today I ran into someone on the sidewalk outside a store. I nodded getting out of my car wearing sunshades and in a hurry. I knew that person saw me - that's why I nodded. They looked back, I smiled and got on out of my car. Couldn't help myself - after passing my car and on my way into the store - I looked that person's direction - they looked back again - then came back and called my name. From a distance I said, "how are ya?" - they said, "Oh - it's you." Then it was a sad moment I cannot do anything about anymore. This person overtly stated they aren't good again. Life sucks - I lost my job - I have this affliction, that one, and another one. I'm going to require multiple surgeries, I only have the VA, and I now have to live with a relative because I cannot take care of myself any longer. However - this person was clean, wearing clean crisp clothes, and given the neighborhood I was in - I know this person walked at least half a mile to end up there on foot. This person had to lean the wall to stand up though - had been drinking a LONG time and smelled of it - and stood there on a sidewalk and cried like a baby while I tried to provide some words of common sense, good judgment, advice, and comfort. This person used to be a great person - great job - great parent - great spouse. EVERYTIME now I run into this person over the last three years - always the same - TRAGEDY - cover ups - excuses - and yes - bad health. One cannot walk miles though if they aren't capable of something. You give them phone numbers, you suggest avenues over the years for help. You OFFER these people EVERYTHING you have to offer INCLUDING LOTS of money - they still swim the gutter. I don't want to be a total raving bitch - but at some point - after you've taught someone how to swim, after you've seen them at the top of the world more than once, and at the bottom more than thrice, and you STILL give them swimming lessons - some days - you almost want to tell them to jump. Some people cannot be saved and that's sad...

Ed Carlson - Reno's Waver

Ed's BACK! I wrote a story long ago about Reno's icon eccentric Ed The Waver. A seeming hippie with a story of unconditional love that walked to the moon and back, and almost everybody waved :) STORY HERE. The VIDEO portion of that story is "currently temporarily unavailable"! I've written those folks to FIX THAT SOON, because his video is priceless on many levels. I included the "link" in case it does get fixed. He does chant a strange mantra as he walks...it's on the video...that I can't show you right now! I've found no other record of that chant. But...Ed has graced our roads & highways since the 1970's with kindness and a WAVE :) My son's girlfriend works at the VA hospital here locally...and thankfully is also one of the few that follows my blog (love ya E) :) Since she had read my previous story of Ed the Waver...she recognized him immediately when he came in recently for an appointment and she had the pleasure to serve him. She told him of my story on my blog, and asked him if he could give her something as a momento of their actual meeting. He gave her an autograph. Now most would think that an autograph is just a signing of a name. NOT FOR THE WAVER! This must be the most amazing and most intriguing autograph I've ever seen. SEE TOP LEFT STORY PICTURE - CLICK TO ENLARGE :) It took me a while to actually READ all of it...and decipher it...and try to figure out what seemed like hyrogliphs within it...BUT I FIGURED IT OUT!...and it only made me wish I could give this odd fellow a nod and say Thanks Again for being a true icon of Nevada... The strange "quotes" or "designs" within the autograph...are the WORDS he CHANTS as he walks our highways, streets, & neighborhoods and just continues his misson to WAVE :) Of course, the hand drawn within is his...traced...as another wave :) God Bless you Ed....we're all still waving back, and I personally am HONORED to have in my possession a legitimate token of your life story in the form of your unique autograph :) THANKS E for sharing that with Mama C :)

Painting The Flag

Folks these days are real down on Conservatives. They say we're racists, arrogant, capitalist pigs, etc. All of the things liberals throw at us...we just let it bounce off because we know in our hearts they are wrong. We are not racist, we are not arrogant, capitalist we are - but pigs we are not. Conservatives know what makes America great and we remember those who fight that fight. We do appreciate others different than us, we thrive on the eccentric that can succeed at doing what has impassioned them and allows them to succeed in their dreams. Slow Hand - I Was Mistaken...Wrong

Nobody needs to know what old folks do in their private time; but I happened to make a misplaced comment while we were chatting over TV about such things and how Hubby should do it like Eric Clapton said he should...you know...the man with the slow hand. I was immediately faced with laughter and my dear KC told me that Eric Clapton knew NOTHING about the Slow Hand excepting he had an album named that. I laughed too and promised him that FOR SURE it was Clapton that sang it. ME...being the "know it all" obnoxious chick I can be, set out to PROVE him wrong. He was RIGHT, and I have videos to prove it. You have NO IDEA how much it pains a woman to admit failure...but when you have a blonde moment you should admit it. Eric Clapton DID have this album, but the Pointer Sisters sang the song...and in public and on the World Wide Web...I admit I was WRONG :) That's why I love ya baby...you are a "stuff knower" and in this case I'm proud to admit "failure". I'm going to try hard to make this post seem kind, but I don't think I can because this event is not kind to humanity. The photo came from ABC News, and the video link came from CNN News. (Steve Fenn/ABC) All of us live with or/around gay or lesbian people and we are semi-tolerant of their choices in lifestyle because in day to day life, the effort to just bash or lash out at someone personally that has never wronged us keeps us sane for moments. I normally don't say much to them, but DAMN, when you bring innocent children into the picture that have no say in their destiny...I have to speak out for THEM. I'm sorry...this is wrong on so many levels I think; and I think these children when growing up at some point when adults will have many issues and some vacancy of normalcy. Yep, anyone can say..."Who are YOU to say what's NORMAL?" I'm nobody, and I have no authority on normalcy...but I think life in general does. I am a Christian believer, not particularly practicing (as others would call normal)...but this just goes beyond anything I can comprehend as normal. In THIS VIDEO these folks seem really sweet and well intending. I'm sure in their world and behind their own closed doors that they swung wide open to Larry King, they are normal in their minds. They are not. I understand their love for each other, but it's an abomination. The husband is not "really" a man. She is not really a "he". It's a he/she. The wife is a woman, but since she chose this lifestyle with this person...she is simply a lesbian, she's not a wife. This "man" had breast surgery, and underwent harmone therapy. She took some drugs that made her grow facial hair, she cut her hair, and she had her tits removed...called it a day..."poof" she's a man. The woman fell in love with he/she, had already had a hysteroctemy, and thus at some point conned a physician into letting them order sperm from a bank, take it home, and she placed in "he" the seed of a child via syringe. He/She gave birth to a daughter and our media has the nerve to say a MAN had a baby! THIS ISN'T A MAN! It's a half trans-gendered individual, lesbian wanna be man, and no matter how good his intentions are...or how much he loves his "wife" or she loves him...it's all a farce and our media is really stupid to think WE believe HE had a baby and is now going to have another one! She is having another baby with her lesbian lover thanks to a sperm bank. Gay rights advocates should look closely here though...given all the raucus they've caused in our downtown streets lately over Proposition 8 in California! These people are actually considered legally married and legally parents. They have health insurance, property ownership, and all benefits granted to heterosexual individuals that ARE MARRIED. If you gays/lesbians want these rights...get some minor plastic surgery, take a few testerone pills/shots, cut your hair, and voila...you're now half everything, but wholly legal in the warped minds of individuals in power all across America. No wonder the foreigners always say, "America...what a country!" Aren't we something. We allow illegal people to have everything for free and we allow half people to be legally whole...aren't we a smart bunch of asshats? I know in this country we have freedom of religion (or none) and I respect that and will always fight to keep freedom. But many religions look to the Bible for guidance. The same way Mr. & Mrs. He/She have the right to believe and say what they wish...so do I. I believe Leviticus, a book written by Moses. I am publishing the "New American Bible version" for those who need more literal copy, but if you would like to see the original, it's in the King James version of the Bible. Take heed to verse 22. Just because you call her a man...the fact that she still has a vagina and a uterus and can give birth...HE'S A WOMAN! I have no personal beef with these people other than biblical abomination...and I wish them as well as someone like me far on the other side of their fence could, but I'm sorry...WRONG!!!

Anybody want to dispute that reality???? Would most EVERYBODY's debt either be solved or greatly reduced by a gift of $700,000.00? I'd be debt free and then have enough for a cheeseburger & fries! Am I the only one that finds this EXTREMELY upsetting? Alpha & Omega is a chant that should be reserved for ONLY the God Almighty! Although the teacher "in charge" of these kids was suspended (only AFTER folks like me FREAKED)...it doesn't change the fact that this is going on in the schools of our nation. Obama Youth - Junior Fraternity Regiment, or Obama Youth Brigade - Whatever you call them...IT'S JUST WRONG ON VERY MANY LEVELS!! The last time youth rose up with chants and military clothing swearing alliegance to a national figurehead was the Hitler Youth. In the video following, you will see grave similarities to what is happening today. And YES, these little German children also sang to their Hitler. Much like these children sang to "their Obama". None of these children knew what they were singing or marching for...a rogue parent or teacher talked them into the hype. To quote the child most politicized and violated at both the beginning and end of the video: "Obama's gonna CHANGE it. Obama's gonna LEAD 'em"..."We're gonna CHANGE it - and REARRANGE it"...and THEN to hear the children as a group sing to the "Holy Preciousness"!!! You bet your life honey, Obama will DO ALL THAT AND LESS...if he get's elected! I'm so sorry your Mama allowed you to waste your incredible talent on this exaggeration of right and overt miscalculation of what's OK to do and what you shouldn't do as a patriot and a citizen of this USA.
